Susan Wise Bauer
I'm looking for a 2010 summer music camp for my 16yo son--preferably with opportunities for percussion, theory and composition. We were looking at the Eastern U.S. Music Camp at Colgate, and also at the International Music Camp in North Dakota. I don't know anything about either. Anybody with experience? Or another camp to recommend? (Preferably one in the eastern half of the U.S.--I'm not too sure about the whole North Dakota thing.) Any help much appreciated! VA6336
The University of the South (Sewanee) near Chattanooga, TN hosts a summer music camp that is wonderful. My kids have obviously never attended (:)), but I have friends who did in high school. http://www2.sewanee.edu/ssmf/festival_about Interlochen is fabulous!! It's up in Michigan and a former choral professor of ours is there now, so I highly recommend it. I wish I had been able to go! http://www.interlochen.org/ Good luck to your son! Julie in MN
My dd attended a flute camp put on by her flute instructor. There may be options close to home, if you keep your antennae up. Julie
