Janie
We often hear (what we label as legal folklore) people around here speak of issues that just seem overwhelmingly wrong legally. Things like: If you are drinking a beer from a can or bottle on your front porch and a police officer sees you doing such, you will be charged with drinking in public or public display of alcohol. Or, a game warden has more power than a state trooper...he can come into your home and search your freezer *without a warrant* if he believes you have killed an animal illegally. We know that laws change all the time, but the Constitution does not. So, we thought that a good addition to our library would be some sort of law reference book which might address some of the cultural folklore we often here. If you have a helpful suggestion, please post the title. Thanks!
Jean in Newcastle
Hmmm. I would think that the problem would be that there are local city or town laws (or county), state laws and then federal laws. And what is a city or state law in one city or state isn't necessarily the same as in another city or state.
