Jean in La
DD (7) will be studying American explorers (Columbus, John Cabot, Ponce de Leon, etc.) after Christmas break. She's a real hands-on person. Do any of you have ideas for crafts or activities for this time period?:bigear: Thanks so much!

If you're on board for helping her and she really likes crafts, Homeschool in the Woods Time Travelers New World Explorers is incredible. They are even better for later elementary but if you think she's ready, these cds are worth every penny. :001_smile:
Chris in VA
I agree with Kristina. We have the TT and I think they've given us a lot of information that dd is actually retaining! From the back of the cd box-- 25 lessons include Reasons for Exploration, A Sailor's life, Ships, Navigation, 23 Explorer profiles, Pirates and more! Written text as well as several choices of activities: Science experiments, European Recipes, file folder games, 3-D projects such as ship's log and pueblo diorama, Incan artifact 10 lapbooking projects including mapping, pop-ups, layered books and more factfile cards, penmanship pages, notebooking, timeline Tons of fun! Good resale value, too.
