Amber in AUS
telling time? I have come to realise that DD has a bit of trouble with telling the time on an analogue clock. Part of the trouble is we don't own an analogue clock :001_huh: I will be fixing that today. But i was wondering if there is something quick and simple, like a CLE light unit that would address this concept? Thanks
Tree House Academy
Not to my knowledge. It is taught very slowly through the 1st grade math course with CLE, but there is no light unit or study dedicated to learning to read an analog clock. Amber in AUS
OK, so lets throw the door open. Is there anything short, quick, simple, that only addresses telling time on an analogue clock?
KarenNC
We used Mammoth Math Clock downloaded from CurrClick http://www.currclick.com/product_info.php?products_id=15581&it=1 It's only $3.50 US (plus your cost to print) and we found it very helpful (used it as a supplement for Singapore as my daughter was having an unexpected problem with the same thing). lollie010
Kumon has two nice workbooks. The first is "my book of easy telling time"--it is just hours and half-hours. The next one is "my book of telling time"--learning about minutes.
Amber in AUS
Thanks Karen & Laurel :) I will check them out. We have used Kumon before so that one might work.
....
Yeah, we're using the Kumon workbook right now. It's really good. I think it was about 7 bucks.
keptwoman
I've just used MUS Primer with DD and she learnt to tell the time in about a week. I don't think you need to use anything really, a well marked clock and some counting in 5's and you'll have it.
