BearWallowSchool
Where can I buy these? Is there a special kind for things like this? I just made my first batch of homemade laundry detergent today and would like to make the next batch smell good. :)
wildflower
any health food store has them. aura cacia is the best brand i know of. you can use whatever scent you like. in the winter we use clove oil for cleaning. i have a spray bottle with vinegar, water and the ee du jour. lavendar for spring. geranium or orange in summer and clove in fall (we really love clove!) makes the whole house come alive! enjoy! do a web search, you may find them on amazon even! rowan25
Along this same line, I currently use a liquid softener for my clothes because I like the smell. But I'm using vinegar for the towels and bleach loads. Can I add some essential oil to the vinegar to get that lavender smell that I love? Or will it make oil spots on the clothes? My washer has a softener cup in the agitator and releases it during the rinse cycle.
Samiam
www.vitacost.com has great prices for essential oils. Better than my local holistic stores. As a side note, you want to be sure to use pure essential oils, and not some fragrant oils, which are often diluted with a cheap oil (and thus their price is cheaper). Lavendar has so many theraputic qualities, it's my all-time favorite. The smell isn't perfumey or flowery at all, took me a while to get used to it. I often use Orange or Lemon oils for cleaning, because they are natural cleaning oils, so enhance my homemade items. I like the idea of Clove Oil, I will try that. I have used the Thieves blend from Young Living, which has clove in it, but it's pricey.
