Melissa in St Louis
I saw this listed in a read-aloud thread a while back, and I'm wondering which version to get. Point me in the right direction, Hive! :)
amsunshine
We loved this one: http://www.amazon.com/Wind-Willows-Kenneth-Grahame/dp/0955304636/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258213544&sr=8-
nmoira
Whichever version you get, make sure it contains the chapters "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" and "Wayfarers All." One or both of these (particularly the former) are often omitted. We like the Michael Foreman illustrated edition, but it appears to be OOP. Guest elizaway
After looking around at a lot of editions, I chose the one illustrated by Robert Ingpen, because there are color illustrations on every page, it's unabridged (the best chapter--"The Piper at the Gates of Dawn"--is still in there, and the drawings are lovely.
