MariannNOVA
Thank you all so much for praying for Rick, my sister's husband, as he underwent open heart surgery yesterday. Yesterday evening, he was doing well after 9 hours in the OR but I just spoke with my mom and something has come up. Rick began bleeding from his bladder during the night -- too much blood to be a scrape from the catheter so a urologist is on his way. Thank heavens my sister was in the room with him during the night b/c she noticed the blood immediately -she's a doctor so she knew immediately it was too much blood for a simple scrape. Prayers - please! Rick is a very fit young man, dad to three girls, a Messianic Jew, and he has the kindest spirit and most generous heart anyone could imagine - he is one of my favorite people! When anyone in our family has needed the strong silent type, Rick has been there :001_smile:. I truly believe in the power of prayer - your prayers are coveted. Thank you all so much! UPDATE - Friday, 11:26pm: Thanks for your prayers! Rick has been moved from CICU to a regular room. The bleeding was from the catheter so we are all quite relieved. His birthday is Sunday, and hopefully, he will be home on Tuesday! Thanks again for prayers and good thoughts!
