LadyR
We are (once again) talking about possibly going to Disney World this year. I remember last year they were offering a free dining plan if you vacationed there during certain dates. We were unable to pull it together to go last year. Does anyone know if this is a promotion they offer every year?
st_claire
I bet they will offer it again yes.
Elisabeth in IL
I bet they will offer it again yes. How do you find out about these promotions? How far in advance do they announce them? :confused1:
Rachel
Definitely! With the economy in the toilet they will do anything to keep business up! It is a great deal........it is the only time of year we would go since dining experiences is a big part of any of our vacations and we have 3 teenagers. They usually announce it toward the end of summer........late July/early August
Karenciavo
It has been offered during late August/September for 3 years so far. That's the longest I've ever seen Disney offer the same package discount. There is no guarantee that it will be offered again. Despite the weak economy here WDW is not hurting because all those countries that have stronger currency have citizens that visit. All that being said, Disney offered bounce back offers to those people who visited during free dining last September, all who took advantage of it will get free dining this September. Maybe they will offer free dining to the general public too, the offer usually is released in May or June. In any case, there is always a great deal in September and if you are a family that doesn't eat much one of those offers (e.g. free tickets and rooms) might be better anyway. CarolinaHomeschooler
Yes, I think they will because they've already offered it to returning visitors. They usually announce it in April, so be ready to act soon. It's best to make your reservations the morning they open their free dining special because then you'll have your choice of resorts. If you want to save even more, consider going with a homeschool group so you can educational group park tickets (the very lowest Disney offers), or go during Disney's homeschool days and (if it's the same as last year), they'll offer the discounted tickets to families. You won't have a large choice of programs, and you may have to pay extra for the Homeschool Days programs, but it's an option. If you can't find a local group, or you don't want to go during homeschool days, you're welcome to go with our group. We go Labor Week each year so far, but may not go next year because we'd like to use that week for other trips. We choose that week due to very low crowds, less days needed to take off from work due to the holiday, and because of the free dining.
