Shawna in Texas
Is it hard? I've only ever sewn a button. I don't have a machine, but I have access to one. Would one of those handheld sewing machines work? I've got a sofa with a chaise on the end, so I would need 6 covers in various sizes, plus 2 throw pillow. I'm pretty sure I could do the measuring and choose the material without any problem. The sewing has me worried. Any advice?
E_Edgerton
Do you have a local upholstery store? We have a few local ones...I know they are willing to bargain....unless you are totally committed to doing this yourself. I think if you supplied the material and measurements you could get a good price...not to mention it would spare you all the cursing! Sewing brings out the worst in me!:)
catalinakel
Sewing cushion covers is not for a beginner, in my opinion. And definitely not for a hand sewing machine. Better to pay someone because fabric is expensive and it is not worth messing it up by now knowing what you are doing and being inexperienced.
