Looking to try Math U See

You will definitely need to starter set of the manipulatives. You'll need the student workbook. I found the DVD to be very helpful, but I could have lived without the Teacher Manual, at least so far.

 

My K'er started with Alpha last year because he already knew the content of Primer from doing informal math, but we only made it about 1/3 of the way through. He just wasn't developmentally ready for the new concepts. We do have the completer set of manipulatives, too, and we have used them.

 

MUS is a good fit for my ds, and we plan to stick with it. I do *not* think it will work for my dd, so we are planning on starting her with R&S in first grade.
