WTMCassandra
We are working through First Form Latin this summer as a review. At the end of Lesson 1, there is a section of English sentences where the student is supposed to supply the correct derivative. DD correctly filled in "Cicero was a great public speaker, the most famous __orator__ in the ancient world." However, she wrote below it, "Red Alert! Opinion stated as fact!":lol::lol:
Aggie
I love "red alert"!! Last night our dds were watching My Fair Lady for the first time. One of them jumped up off the couch yelling, "Fallacy! Fallacy!" at one point. (She named which one, but I don't remember now what she said.) Why don't we take them to a political debate?;)
WTMCassandra
I love "red alert"!! The funny thing is that my DD has never even seen Star Trek. She's just heard us use the term now and then. And your DD is funny too. I can't wait to be inundated next year when we start Art of Argument! I'm sure the children will enjoy pointing out every fallacy they see.
