July 1 or 4th fun activities

Recommended Posts

We make pretzel sticks for the 4th. You just purchase the pretzel rods, dip them in melted chocolate (I usually use the white almond bark). The kids then sprinkle them with 4th of July sprinkles. I just recently discovered that most bakeries will sell you a bowl of the holiday sprinkles at a great price.

Okay, here's a radical watermelon eating contest. Each kid gets a same-sized slice of watermelon to see who can finish it first. The trick is, they have to lie on their stomachs and hold their hands together behind their backs (or tie with a soft bandanna).

This activity goes well with a slip-n-slide or garden hose. :)
