Melissa in St Louis
We have decided to do CLE math in the fall, and we're currently in the middle of Singapore 1B (we both loathe it)...CHEF confrence is coming up, and the budget is tight...should I get the Right Start Math Card games to play during the summer to firm up our facts ($50) or, should I get CLE math units 105-110 with the needed things (also about $50) so that we can start with 201 in the fall. Yes, both would be ideal, but that is not happening right now. :001_smile: Thoughts?
Aurelia
I'd get the RS games, since those can be used for a longer period of time and cover concepts at more than one level.
claire up north
personally, i'd get the curriculum for fall & look for some on-line math drill sites. this is because i have bought game type stuff before and wind up never using and i'd KNOW i'd use the actual curriculum. katilac
I'd get the curriculum. There are plenty of math games and drills on the internet: http://letsplaymath.wordpress.com/2006/12/29/the-game-that-is-worth-1000-worksheets/ http://childparenting.about.com/od/makeathomemathgames/Make_at_Home_Math_Games.htm http://www.iknowthat.com/com/L3?Area=Mathblox
Melissa in St Louis
Great responses. Thanks so much for the links, too! :001_smile: We are big "game players," so I can see the cards getting used, but I think it may be wise to just make my own/do online ones. Thanks, hive!
