Tammy
Will someone please look at this recipe....and look at the picture....and tell me how those pecans are on the BOTTOM of the pie shell....when in the directions you are told to layer the cream cheese first....then put the pecans on top. http://www.momswhothink.com/cheesecake-recipes/pecan-pie-cheesecake-recipe.html . Tammy
I am no baker....as you can tell. But I don't understand why you would put the cream cheese mixture in the pie shell first..... Could I just put the pecan mixture in first? It would seem hard to put the pecan mixture evenly over the cream cheese mixture....KWIM? . Cricket
I don't bake much either but that seems strange to me too. I was thinking that maybe the pecans settled during baking, but then I read the recipe.
Tammy
and....although the pie shell was much too small for all of it to fit.....I put the cream mixture in the pie shell first.....then put the pecans on top....then the egg/corn syrup mixture on top of that (that was no easy task, LOL). It came out GREAT....except all the pecans did not settle to the bottom....but the corn syrup did..... All in all.....I think next time I will put the pecan mixture on the bottom....and use two pie shells..... I figure I have the best of both worlds....pecan pie....and cheesecake, LOL! .
