Has anyone ever used the Mathcounts courses (Intro to Alg, etc.) with a bright but

non-gifted math student? My dd is just finishing 6th and we've just finished the algebra portion of NEM1 and the first two chapters (algebra) of NEM2. She is doing ok, but I wouldn't call her "gifted" exactly--she just likes math and works very hard at it. So, if you have used teh Mathcounts series (Intro to Algebra, Intro to Number Theory, . . . to Geom, and . . . Probability) can you explain how you would work these in? Would you use these in place of a "regular" book, would you use it after you have finished a "regular" book, or alongside? Thanks in advance.

Are these the books/courses put out by Art of Problem Solving?

 

If so, I've seen those mentioned a lot over on the high school and accelerated learning board.
