What about something from Anne Graham Lotz?
She has a few free studies on her website (look under Free Resources) so you can decide whether you care for her style before you purchase anything.

I just think everybody likes different things, kwim?
I agree with this.
I tend to love particular characters. Because of this I may find a book (because of its characters) to be a favorite when many folks hated it (because of plot elements, etc.).

:D
Took me a minute.
My sister owns a lingerie shop for plus size gals, but I still haven't heard the term 'teddy' in ages.

HI there,
{uh, that would be "a" PSA!!!! Typed to quickly!
This is circulating on a few of my dog lists. There are a few new dog owners here, (and soon to be, right Nakia?!) as well as a lot of us old-timers, so with the holidays approaching, I thought this was worth passing along.
If your dog should do the unthinkable and chew up and swallow any part of glass Christmas tree ornaments, one thing that can help protect their stomach and intestines from the worst of the glass damage is to dip a few real cotton balls (not the synthetic kind) in heavy cream and feed them to the dog. The fibers from the cotton will wrap around those shards of glass and help it to pass more safely through the digestive tract. For the Christmases that I've had young puppies around, I've made up a few emergency kits consisting of a ziploc bag with five cotton balls soaked in cream and stashed them in the freezer. They thaw quickly in your hands and are a good safety net to have on hand. Thankfully, I've only had to use them once.
Hopefully no one needs that tip, but it's an easy thing to keep on hand for the holidays.

Thank you for this. My sister is bringing home a little beagle in the next week or so. I will pass this along (in addition to encouragement to hang only her wood, metal and plastic ornaments this year).

No. He studied journalism but he is a photographer.
I voted that he needed some kind of degree, but it is only true that he was told to finish college. His line of work doesn't require a degree.
When he was a junior in college he approached the professional sports team that he has now been with for 33 years. He asked them for a job and they told him to come back after he finished school.

I was wondering how you eat a Black Friday Sale.
I thought Dawn was going to describe her eating/shopping schedule. :D

Yes.
I hate beets. I tried them as a child and they tasted like dirt.
Last year my mom convinced me that our tastes change and I might actually like beets now.
I tried them again and they still taste like dirt. :D

It might matter more than you think it ever will.
Or it may not matter at all.
If only I had more photographs of my brother from the final years of his life, I wouldn't care who else might be in the picture.
Old girlfriends of second cousins? Fine.
Co-workers of Uncle Henry? Okay.
Sister's friends from high school? No problem.
After all, they were each important in this life for one reason or another.
Of course, they'd all just be background decoration. So long as the one I'm missing IS in the picture, I would cherish it.

I regularly use the Intuos 3. My son loved it, so I bought a Bamboo tablet for him.
I use it when I'm teaching him something in Photoshop, and I find the tablet to be just as good as mine.

I finished my shopping early this morning and I'm doing the baking tonight. I'll prep the side dishes and set the tables tomorrow so I only have to do the turkey and put a couple dishes right into the oven on Thursday.

I SO want to read this book. I was really taken with her other book Still Alice.

It completely changed my view of depression and mental illness.

Thank you!! :)
I will check that Dropbox thing - sounds perfect! Thank you so much and thanks to your husband!
Dropbox is wonderful. I use it regularly to share large graphics files with clients around the country.

I saw this over the weekend. I sat right down and watched the whole episode.
I was fascinated by their wedding attire, especially that of the mothers' generation.

I don't have a regular stash, but if I buy myself a special treat I keep it in my purse.
The guys know that the only things they are allowed to take out of my purse are the car keys and money. If there is a bar of chocolate in there, they should leave it.

It's HARD!
Some of you who have been here since my boys were younger may remember that I have always disliked reading aloud. My guys never minded that I'd either let them read to themselves or give them an audio book to listen to. At the end of the day we'd all pile onto the big bed and each of us would read our own books. We always read together, but once they were independent readers, I didn't read to them.
I don't know what came over me last night, but when my 12 year old and I chose our next literature selection (Gulliver's Travels) I just opened the cover and started reading to him.
Every time I glanced up he had an enormous grin on his face.
I stumbled over some of Swift's invented words and repeatedly apologized. He'd say, "No! You're doing fine! Keep going!"
:blushing:
So. I need to keep going.
Tell me it gets easier! Or at least tell my why this is so HARD!
Do I just need more practice?
I considered pre-reading the chapters we'll cover tonight so I am familiar with them when we sit down together, but I don't have time to regularly read a single book *twice* every week.

Just this morning, I told dh he was being a control freak about it and to leave it alone. It looks cool and I personally like it.
I think you set the tone with that statement.

Sausage is, in my opinion, the next best thing to bacon.
:)

I love fried bacon. You know how it's really good??? In white bread with mayo and sharp cheddar. Yum.
I like it on whole wheat toast with mayo. No cheese, just lots of bacon.
