  1. I'm hoping to get input from someone who's used Christian Liberty Press Adventures and Phonics program. I'd like to know if you've had success with this program and what exactly you need to teach it. (Student & teacher manual?)

Also, if you have other suggestions on very inexpensive programs, please let me know. I'm trying to help a single mom who has no money to get started in homeschooling. (She's on disability so funds are scarce)

    Thanks much!

  2. I purchased it for my 17-year-old son who needs modifications in his curriculum. We've already done 2 of the 13 units and where enjoying it as much as we did Biology 101. I throw in a lot of "extras" as yes, the mathematics are weak (but that's where DS special needs lie).

  3. He's 17 y/o, in 5'10.5" and weighed in today at 242! He's pre-diabetic, works out at the gym 6 days/wk(1 hr/day, we do no carbs after 3:00pm. I've been actively trying to help since January 2013 when he was 241, he went down to 229 last spring, then put it back on. Plenty of evidence for closet eating! He also has Aspergers S so that doesn't help! Need suggestions.

  4. He is a little delayed so the vocab needs to be easy to understand. His learning eval demonstrates that he does best with memory. Curriculum which has fill-in-the-blank questions which are regurgitated back on a test. We live in New England so I was looking at covering material you'd use in a BJU book, .5 credit to meet the state requirement. No to online, DVD okay as it can be watched several times over. Graduation in 2016.

  5. My DS has been working on the Congressional award. He seems to be lacking ideas for the category of exploration/expedition. I'm hoping people could add on to these lists. He needs expeditions longer than two days-one week in length.

    Exploration Ideas:

    Birdwatching(he did this one)

    fishing

    camping

Expedition ideas (cultural type, historical immersion)

visit child day care/senior day (he did this one also)

celebrate holidays with family of different religion i.e. Jewish Passover

spend some time working on a working farm i.e. dairy, ranch

experiencing a day with a person with different handicaps: deaf, blind, mentally retarded
