  1. :iagree:

How about our enthusiastic atheists remember that Creationists do not all hold to the same idea of what that means. Those on one end of the scale may be eons away from what you believe, but those on the other only differ from you on whether a god made it happen. It'd be so much friendlier to ensure you're only kicking people the right amount. A flat kicking tax really isn't fair in this situation.

    Rosie

    LOL Rosie! and :iagree::iagree::iagree:

  2. I'm not even going to bother posting what I think of Bill Nye's comments, as they don't matter a bit to me -- nor do they matter to most people, I would assume.

What I would like to say is that, while most of the comments here have been respectful, a few have been downright personally insulting, and I think it is sad that anyone feels the need to be intentionally mean and disparaging toward another member here, just because they disagree on a hot-button issue.

I think it's fine to disagree and to debate, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who is hoping the rest of the thread can continue without personal insults.

I was offended reading the insults, and they weren't even directed toward me.

  3. Oh poor little kitty!! Are you pretty certain about how many weeks old it is? If doesn't eat the solids you could get some kitten milk replacer from the pet store and let it lick it off the spoon. I had to do that with a kitten once and they were fine with that til they could eat solids. Please keep us updated and let us know how it's doing. Poor little thing! :( And can I just add, thank you so much for being a Good Samaritan to that little kitten. It no doubt would be dead now if you hadn't stopped. :grouphug: :grouphug:

  4. I'm afraid of my sauerkraut

Poke it and see if it moves. If it moves, strap on your tin-foil hat. It's an alien life-form!

From my long-winded ds15: Do you remember making or buying this sauerkraut? If you do not, poke it, and see if it moves. If it moves, put on a tin-foil hat, and stick it in the freezer to slow its reflexes. Then, call the police, and let them deal with it. If it does not move, then try to take it out. Does it resist? If it does, shoot it with a high-caliber weapon. If it doesn't, it's probably safe to put on your sandwich.

And yes, my ds has been taught the true value of a good tin-foil hat.

    :lol::lol:

  5. I really do believe it has synced up all of our cycles. Be warned of the following possibilities:

    1. Crock pot threads

    2. Shoes in the house threads

    3. Hysteria

    4. Offense

    And last but not least

    5. Swellmomma well having problems.

So here are a few tips:

Big girl panties [hey they are gonna be needed anyway :tongue_smilie:]

    Really thick skin

Heavy doses of vitamin B [that one is actually kinda serious :001_smile:]

    Massive quantities of chocolate

    Possibly some wine

And last but not least kilts or tunics [your choice]

Now I for one have not been afflicted with any of these behaviors :leaving:

but I wanted to share all my worldly wisdom with you. :D

[off to take my stress tabs, coffee and try to :chillpill:]

    Oh and DON'T BLINK

    That is all. :001_tt2:

**LIKE** I'll just add to the list rum and lots of it. :D

  6. I have made a vow not to get banned for at least the month of Sept ;) because I need the hive while we get started up again this year. However, I am going to need your help on this as a group. The only way this is going to work is if we work together. Do not post anything offensive, or just plain stupid. Because I lack the self control to keep my mouth shut about it. SO if you are planning to be an a$$hat, or an all round idiot these are teh following dates that you may be so as I will be most likely away from the hive Sept 1, Sept 19, Sept 30. There may be other days as well but most likely we will all be safe on those days.

SO be sure to mark those dates down and don't give me fodder the rest of the month because you and I both know I never zip it.

Thank you, that will be all :D

:lol::lol: Brandy I seriously love you girl! hehehehehe

Thank you SO MUCH for this much needed laugh today! :) :cheers2:

  7. :iagree: With all of this.

BTW, is this now officially the macaroon thread? I haven't noticed any macaroon wars on Facebook.

Great idea!! :) I've never had a macaroon so I don't know if I should change my allegiance from team cupcake shots. How do they taste with rum?? :tongue_smilie:

  8. We went to Disney World. We had so much fun, I hope we can take our kids back there someday.

I think I might watch that here in a few minutes. I should fold clothes while doing that, but I might just veg out. ;)

You'll love it I bet. Nathan Fillion is great in it. :). I love Disney too. I've gone there so many times and never get tired of it. :). My mom honeymooned there too when she married my step dad. She stayed at the Contemporary hotel. :)

  9. While it's always nice to see the Yankees lose, the Marlins beat my beloved Cubs to make it to that game. I remember getting ready for my wedding and watching my Cubs biff it and just being so

I got over it, then I went to Florida on my honeymoon during the World Series. :tongue_smilie::lol:

Oh, I'm sorry about your team. :grouphug: That's nice you didn't hold it against us though and still came here for your honeymoon. :). Which part of Florida did you come to?

My bathrooms are clean, my kitchen is halfway there, I've listened to several Adele songs on Youtube, and read some of The Oatmeal's comics.

Productive period of not being able to sleep....of course, now I'm wired. I will finish the kitchen and tackle on of the two clutter hotspots in the house. The other one will have to wait, because it's mostly DH's stuff that I don't know what to do with.

My you have been productive! :hurray: Oh somewhere in there you really should watch some Firefly. Maybe to wind down with after you finish decluttering. It's really a good show. :)

I'm here not sleeping thinking of all the cleaning I have to do in the morning. :(

  10. Baseball really is boring, especially Royals baseball. And you know you all would love Jim Cantore if he would just shut up and wear a kilt!

:lol: It sure would add some excitement to hurricane reporting! Lol

I don't watch baseball all season, just the playoffs and the World Series, but those games are exciting to me. When the Florida Marlins played the Yankees back in 2003, I bit ALL of my fingernails off! And I don't even bite my nails!! DH was practically having a heart attack! He had to go outside and walk around the block a few times. It was so exciting! Even better that our little rag tag team beat The Mighty Yankees!! :hurray:

  11. In my defense, it's kind of a long drive from Colorado to Florida. And they have hurricanes.

    :lol::lol:

But it's not that long of a drive from CO to Nebraska. We're neighbors!

BTW, I'm only up because I'm from Louisiana. There is something in my DNA that prevents me from sleeping when a hurricane hits LA. Also, I kinda think Jim Cantore is hot. If only he would wear a kilt while broadcasting during a hurricane;).

  Lol. He is kinda hot! If only he didn't talk so much. :p. Seriously does he ever stop talking? He's like a weather version Bob Costas, although decidedly easier on the eyes. :D

I hope your peeps stay safe. :grouphug:
