  1. We just got to lesson sixty something in OPGTR where it teaches "wh" and "ph". The words they list in the "ph" section involve phonics rules we haven't learned yet like "phone" and "photograph." So far we have only worked with the short sounds of vowels. Am I supposed to teach him those on my own? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Ok, so I'm confused by all these kindergarten curriculum plans I keep seeing. The book (WTM) gives you what you should do. This is the WTM forums. Does anyone actually follow what the book says to do? We are for kindergarten because what is laid out in the book is so simple. I feel like I'm going to spend the next two years until he's supposed to formally start 1st grade barely doing anything as the book suggests. Just reading a lot and teaching him to read, talking about numbers as we go through our days, and doing some science projects along the way whenever we feel up for it. Sorry, not meaning to sound rude at all. I'm just a little confused :) Is this not enough? Should I be planning to do more?
  3. Hi, I've just been skimming over the lessons today and I'm wondering, did y'all actually teach all of these lessons to your children? Should they be able to spout out ALL of these phonics rules? I'm thinking I want to just casually teach them the more in depth rules as we read along, but I don't want to do it wrong either. It seems like a lot. Thanks!
  4. Hey, I'm from Houston. I live in Australia right now, but we will be moving back next year. Our house is in Spring. We have a 4.5, 2.5 and 7 month old. How about yourself?
