  1. It really depends what state they are in. The HS laws vary by state. Some allow you to pull the kid out of school immediately and figure out your plan, others require a plan to be approved before leaving school. I think all states require students to follow the Australian curriculum. There are many facebook groups where she could get advice - some Australia-wide, some state or region based.
  2. Always big here in Perth, but that is when we have our big fireworks display, rather than New Year's. I have noticed Anzac Day becoming bigger and bigger in recent years.
