  1. On a house that you walk through at 7:00 in the evening. Wait until midday so you can see how bad the carpet looks, how much painting has to be done, and last but not least how ugly the cabinets in the kitchen really are. And not to mention that the front porch is home to wood eating bugs, yet to be determined by the contractor who will be there on Mon.:eek::eek:

  2. Is usually in the low 100's. I worked in a lab so we could draw each other and run our own labs when we had do do correlations and such. Potassium is usually monitored in conjunction with other test, on it's own no worries, like you said diet can have some effect. If you had other results out of kelter then maybe a issue. But I always like to know my lab results, I'm geeky that way. Give me a microscope and I'm a happy girl! :p

  3. We got behind one and dh and I we trying to figure out what it was, my 6 dd piped up from the backseat and said "daddy it's a man bag".

We had just gone to the ren fest and she saw the guys sporting those change purse things. My mother called them man bags so my wonderful little daughter picked up on that one. Anyhow, we had never laughed so hard.

  4. With the ATS, you still have to check their work. Every twenty lessons is a test that is sent in along with a composition or some other form of writing. It has been nice, however, you may end up being on assorted lessons for different subjects. Then you are all over the lesson manual. Having everything laid out is nice, and I like the accountability for my ds. But we have been waiting to get back to our own groove when he is finished. There is also Abeka, BJU, Covenant Classical, and I think Sycamore Tree provide some sort of accountability if that is your main priority.

  5. mitosis is when BODY cells reproduce, and meiosis is when SEX cells reproduce.

    Pretty much the nitty gritty.

Mitosis: duplication of the chromosomes. in order to separate and multiply.

(from Wikipedia: Mitosis is the process by which a cell duplicates the chromosomes in its cell nucleus, in order to generate two, identical, daughter nuclei. It is generally followed immediately by cytokinesis, which divides the nuclei, cytoplasm, organelles and cell membrane into two daughter cells containing roughly equal shares of these cellular components. Mitosis and cytokinesis together define the mitotic (M) phase of the cell cycle, the division of the mother cell into two daughter cells, each with the genetic equivalent of the parent cell.)

Meiosis: where the cell splits, and needs another cell from the opposite sex to make it whole again.

(this is our method of reproductrion!)

(from wikipedia:In biology, meiosis (pronounced my-oh-sis) is the process by which one diploid eukaryotic cell divides to generate four haploid cells often called gametes. The word "meiosis" comes from the Greek meioun, meaning "to make smaller," since it results in a reduction in chromosome number in the gamete cell.)

  6. I can not believe they are charging 15$ to see this. I was going to take dd, because she loves all things Hannah Montana, but that is ridiculous. And that most times for the next week are almost sold out. Crazy me, what was I thinking?? I think we will be skipping this one.

And maybe when we move we should skip getting the satellite hooked up, would hate to not be able watch the Disney Channel.

  7. I started gymnastics at the age of 8 and 32 years later I am still involved in the sport. I was an elite gymnast myself. I owned my own gym for 15 years and I continue to coach & judge to this day

I was gym rat too. Every night for 10 years. I would love to be able to get back into somehow. I do cartwheels and handstands and the kids are in awe. You must have lots of fun!:)

  8. Was very open and upfront. if we like a house in an area that was not so good he would make a comment about it, not directly come out and say one way or the other. He would suggest another area or neighborhood that listings. He knew we had three kids and homeschooled. We told him we wanted a kid friendly area.

We also would drive by on our own to get an idea. If you are able to drive by on Sat. mornings, you can get a idea of who is out and kids and the like. I think Zilllow.com has a wealth of info also. You can type in the address of the home and it will pull up dempgraphics and recent home sales/ value of where you are going. I think yahoo realestate does the same.

I found the homeschool loop for the area and introduced myself there and ask for suggestions on areas as well.

  9. Discovery Place is good for kids, we go quite a bit. You could go to Concord Mills, they have the Nascar Speed Park, and large outlet mall. East of town exit 49. We are there daily to get out of the house, we live 5 min away. There is also the Nature Musuem, they have a butterfly room, this is in town also. My kids like going to see that. Not sure how long you are going to be here, the Musuem of the South is in town also. The Whitewater park is west of Charlotte about 15 min or so, can watch the kayakers going down. There is Imaginon in town also, large children's library and depending on your dates you could catch a show put on by the Children's Theatre. BofA Stadium has tours if you are into football. Sad to say we have lived here 9 years and there isn't too much to go see.

    Anyway HTH,
