John Sanford is one of my favorites and it's all clean as far as language and sex. There's reference to it, but it's never explicit. His Prey series and Virgil Flower series should occupy her for a little while.
If she's into supernatural-ish mysteries, I was reading Dean Koontz at her age and it's 100% clean.
These aren't high literature, but they are fun reads.

At that age my son loved the Conspiracy 365 series.

I've had good luck with snapfish. I've used vista print and they were ok but the quality was less.

The kits that come with a magnetic key where the only ones that worked for us. I had mischievous toddlers who loves to get into things. The magnetic ones were impossible because you have to line up the magnet just right and hold it there to open the cabinet and we were able to keep the key up high and somewhat hidden. They are expensive so we only put them on a couple of cabinets and let the babies have free reign on the others.

We did Khan for a year and it ended up being a wasted year for us. There wasn't enough practice and we ended up having to repeat the entire year. I still use it for supplementing though.

Have you spoken to an elder care lawyer about the Medicaid? That was recommended to us when we dealt with some of this. There were several lawyers around our town that specializes in elder care issues.

My husband does VIPKID, in addition to his regular job. Out of his VIPKID income we had to pay 20% of it. The recommendation is to set aside 30% because it does vary depending on the higher income and deductions and stuff. Since he makes $20 per hour doing it, vs the 8.50 I was making at a grocery store it still comes out to better money.

We did a light geography as an elective credit. We used some documentaries, a Great Courses series, read a few books, did a quick survey of landforms, some maps and a few writing assignments.

It is not appropriate - everyone with a gifted child knows that. Unfortunately teachers either won't or can't grasp that lecturing their friends, never learning anything and doing twice as much uninspiring work as everyone else is not what our children need. It is the mentality that means the only person who does ALL the maths problems is the person who didn't actually need to do any of them.
You are not the only one who is a bit bitter - nearly everyone with s gifted child has had similar experiences. "The child can read the same boring book as the test but write twice as much and do a presentation about it". Oh yes very helpful.
Exactly! We were offered the option of letting him do each worksheet twice. Same worksheet. He spend most of that year in ISS reading and doing dumb busywork because his behavior was poor. We were told that if we would just let him be paddled he would act better. never mind that he was bored silly.. Grade skipping wasn't allowed. If sitting in ISS all day for nearly half a school year isn't educational neglect, I don't know what is.

It may be considered appropriate from the teacher's perspective but it killed my child's love of learning and reading. Before we started homeschooling he would read quietly at school until he was sick to death of reading and then get in trouble because he was bored to tears. Only being allowed to read grade level books didn't help the situation. How much Junie B. Jones can one person tolerate?Even if everyone else had been a grade level many teachers consider tutoring your peers and reading quietly to be appropriate extension. Either that or more output.
Expecting a young child, especially a rough and tumble boy to read books quietly for hours and hours, broken up only by a worksheet that takes 5 minutes here and there and a 20 minute recess is inappropriate developmentally. Especially when you then take away the 20 minute recess because the child wasn't able to sit still and read for 4 hours before hand.
That child will now only read if required because he just hates it so much. I might still be bitter about this.

Not mice, but a plastic snake has kept the squirrels out of ours. They used to eat the cover every year but now they leave it alone. For the squirrels I just set the snake on top of the grill but you might try hiding a couple around the grill for mice.

Burn them all.
It does not sound like dwelling on them brings you happiness; it only reminds you of what you have lost - so I don't see a point in keeping them.
I let go of a lot of letters and diaries and stuff. It was quite freeing.
This.

I really enjoyed the Spiderwick Chronicals and the Percy Jackson series.

Hm..I never had to discuss penises with my boys. They never attempted to pee outside either. In fact once one of mine was very desperate and so I brought him behind a tree and he was horrified at the suggestion. LOL
And where I live, peeing outside-not in undies, is how you potty train a boy! Getting to pee off grandma's back porch is a great incentive to a 2 year old boy. I've lived in the South too long apparently.

I would love to see reviews on this too. I'm looking at it as a jumping off point, I would add textbooks and other assignments.

We want from CLE 700 right into Algebra. We went with Math without Borders and Foeresters Algebra and it worked great. He was well prepared and had no problems. I didn't like CLE algebra at all.

I thought 26 was chosen as the age to ensure college students don't go uncovered? And because the entry level job market isn't known for generous benefits.
I was married with 2 kids, a mortgage and a cat well before 25.

As a teen my husbands mom took his music collection away from him because the church told her it was devil music. Let's just say that his heart was not won to Jesus that day and it's been a huge barrier between him and religion to this day.

A friends daughter had GI issues for months. Finally one of the older doctors in the practice prescribed something, I think zinc, based on his experience doing missions in Africa. It worked when nothing else had.

Could you look at the table of contents for alpha and just make it up yourself on a white board?

There is absolutely no good reason to use mayonaise. I use a blend of coconut and olive oil with a few drops of tea tree. Any kind of straight oil (not mayo!) works great, tea tree oil makes it smell like hair care product, not salad or whatever, even if it does nothing else.
This was 20-25 years ago, trust me, my mother had never heard of coconut oil or essential oils. Probably still hasn't. And olive oil would have been froo-froo. All the teen and Cosmo type magazines at the time recommended mayo washes and beer rinses for shiny hair anyway, so it wasn't that weird.

The way to treat lice is with mayonnaise or olive oil. Goop it ALL over. Put a shower cap on and leave it on over night, 12 ish hours. Lice might be resistant to pesticides, but they need to breath. I got it several times through middle school due to my gym locker being next to someone that didn't bother with treatment. Our lockers were glorified baskets, it was ridiculous. I had long, curly, very thick hair and we never had to cut it, although my mom wanted to.

I don't start CLE LA until 3rd either. I also did English for the Thoughtful Child first. It's been a good method for us.

There was a deal going around for awhile for $30 wvery 3 months. We jumped on that! It's been worth every penny.

I wanted to chime in to add that Beatiful Feet has a year long curriculum built around the history and science of horses that sounds just right for your daughter.
