  1. Fruit of the Loom, I think, makes what they call "sports bras".  They are really just more supportive upper halves of a tank top.  They look really nice under things and are pretty cheap.

ETA: I just googled and, yes, it is Fruit of the Loom.  I'd link but I can't.

I wear these.  They are cotton and very breathable. :001_smile:

  2. I got very nauseous the day after taking it every week. At first I thought I was coming down with she thing, but it happened every week, so I stopped taking it after 4 weeks. Obviously my numbers did not go up much.

I get the same effect.  I have extremely low D, but every time I've tried to supplement, I feel like I have the flu.  Weird. :confused1:

  3. I'm not the poster you quoted but I don't think it's the same at all.

People send messages with their clothing.   For example, I know a young man who would like to date a certain young woman.  She is not inclined to date him.   Why not?  He dresses like a slob.  He is aggressively sloppy - unkempt hair, super baggy pants, shoes falling apart.  He is not suffering from extreme poverty.  He just doesn't care.  The message he sends is:  I don't care.   The woman he would like to date is a professional.  She always looks nice - not flashy, she is modest in the sense of not calling undue attention to herself.  She isn't someone who cares too much about her appearance, but she cares enough to look clean and nice.   If this young man doesn't care enough to even comb his hair (forget about getting it cut), how much is he going to care about her?

So with a woman who dresses in a "slutty" way... she is sending a message with her clothing.  Her message is that she is s*xy and she wants people to know it.  It's not "asking for it" in terms of rape. Men will interpret her dress as a way that she is seeking their attention.   Not rape. I am not excusing rape.  I am saying that because of the way she is dressed, men may feel she wants their attention.

I used to spend a lot of time in nightclubs.  Women would dress in short, tight, revealing clothing, and carry themselves a certain way in order to be asked to dance and to be offered drinks.  They were not asking to be s*xually assaulted.  But they were definitely asking for male attention.  It was obvious!

Which is really what the poster jmama is quoting said.   I should have multi-quoted!

ETA: I see the post I quoted has been deleted.  So perhaps I misunderstood that whole exchange.

I deleted my other post because it seemed a tad rude when I looked at it again.  Not my intention.  I just truly don't get the idea of judging people by their clothes.

I also can't see the situation you mentioned as being comparable.  Someone who is unkempt, messy, and a "slob" as you put it shouldn't be in the same category as a women who puts on a dress that she feels makes her look nice, flatters her body, etc.  I think most of us just dress(when dressing up) in what makes us feel pretty.  I really don't care if someone gives me attention over what I'm wearing, that's their problem, not mine.  Just my opinion :001_smile:

  4. I agree that seizures can be very different in all people, I was talking about what happened to my infant.  Infants USUALLY get very sleepy after a seizure.  That being said, I doubt this is what is going on here.  It all sounds perfectly normal.  But, I do agree with candicane that if something feels off, then ask your doc.

  5. I was waiting for someone to start this thread!  Were we ALL yelling "No way!" when we saw that it was Elsa?  Love it, I think it will definitely be the actual Snow Queen fairy tale, and not the movie version.  But, I can see why they had to make her look like the movie Elsa, or how else would we know who the heck she was?

Loved the whole episode!  Can't wait for next season.

  6. Okay, I am a mom who's son had epilepsy as an infant.  Is your ds falling to sleep, or extremely tired after the giggling fits?  If not, then you can rest assured that this isn't a seizure.

I agree with everyone else, this is very normal, both for the baby to be giggling, and for you to be a worried mom.  He sounds like a normal, happy baby to me :001_smile:

  7. I tested negative on the blood tests for years.  It wasn't until I had the small bowel biopsy did they see that I most definitely had Celiac.  I had gotten seriously underweight, and was very sick before that biopsy.  I was like you, I would give up gluten for a while, but think, well, I don't have Celiac, so I would go back to eating it.  As soon as we got the biopsy results back and I stopped all gluten for good(a year ago), I was able to gain and keep some weight on and I wasn't so darned sick anymore.  To me it was very worth it.

  8. "There are more, but the only other one that comes to mind, isn't a movie, but a Christmas cartoon, called Nester the Long-eared Donkey. When themother freezes to death in the snow to keep Nester warm, I just lose it. It got so bad that my mom quit letting me watch it when I was little. We bought it on DVD a few years ago, and I *still* cry."

Totally agree with this....Nester is the saddest show I have ever seen. I bought it last year, and dd and I watched it....both sobbing. Afterwards, she said, 'Mom, that was the worst thing I've ever seen. I can never watch that again.'

Oh yes, that is awful.  Poor Nester crying "Mama?  Mama?"

  9. It is sold at a lot of grocery chains and book store chains like Barnes and Noble, just go in and check it out yourself.  You local library most likely has it also.

ETA: I just checked out the subscription price and found it was only $12 for 11 issues through the Smithsonian Magazine website.  I would expect it to be half advertising for that price.

This.  We have just started getting it, and it is ok, but a TON of ads.  National Geographic is much better, IMO.

  10. Pretty much every Pixar movie:  'Cars'-when Lightning stops and goes back to help the King.  'Monsters Inc'-at the end when Mike puts Boo's door back together, then Sully goes in and you hear Boo say "Kitty!".  'Finding Nemo'-when Dory is begging Marlen not to leave her, because when she's with him she's "home".  'Brave'-at the end when Merida is hugging the bear, thinking that her mom is not coming back.  'Wall-E'-when Wall-E is malfunctioning and not himself, then his eyes change and he says "Eve".  And not Pixar, but in 'The Princess and the Frog' when Ray dies, then comes back as a star next to his love.  Seriously, I can't even go on.

  11. I tested negative for Celiac for years, it wasn't until I had a small bowel biopsy that showed Celiac damage.  I had stopped gluten on and off over the years because it just made me feel less sick, but, I would get back on gluten again because it was just easier to eat what everyone else did.  I had gotten severely underweight by the time they found it.  As soon as I went completely gf, for a year now I think, I started to slowly gain and keep the weight on.  So, I say, if it makes you feel better, listen to your body.  Same goes for your kids, you know them best.

  12. Yep, I get those.  ALWAYS in the middle of the night.  Used to scare to heck out of me, now I just lay there and wait it out.  I went to the ER the first time it happened, heart and everything else was fine.  Tends to get worse when I'm getting close to starting.  They suck, so sorry you are dealing with this.
