  1. We have never done grades before and I would prefer not to start now. What are you putting on transcripts?
  2. Thanks! I don't know why I can't find past threads when I look. I must be searching incorrectly.
  3. My daughter really enjoys photography. I know little to nothing about photography. Any good online courses out there? Anyone put a course together?
  4. I had one I loved when my son was in high school 10 years ago but got rid of it and can't remember name or author. :(
  5. I would like my daughter to learn basic web design but I am not all that great with a computer. Any suggestions on courses with little or no parent involvement needed?
  6. Daughter is non science major and just want to meet requirements. How many labs do you think would be reasonable to call it Biology with lab, etc. Our state requires 2 of the sciences have a lab component.
  7. Thanks for the response. May I ask what you are using to add labs? If I use this I will have to add labs as well.
  8. I know these are not going to be the most learning intensive programs. I really want to spend the majority of our time focusing on math and language arts. I am basically trying to check the box for credit for a child who can only put out a certain amount of work and is just not interested in these subjects. Are these supposed to be the equivalent of a high school credit? Are they interesting? Are there any any particular subjects that you liked or disliked?
  9. Daughter has short attention span and I want to focus energy in high school on math and language arts. Any ideas for a simple World History course? I don't know if she will go to college, but if she does she will definitely not be a history major.
  10. My daughter has some learning issues so our homeschool has been very non-traditional, but I would like to see where she is in relation to other students her age and find what areas we need to work on. One place I have looked is BJU and they have ITBS as a standardized test (which is what my adult son used to take, but he was a very typical student) , but then they also have something called OLSAT and CogAT which they recommend periodically. I'm not really sure what they are. Any advice on a test or multiple tests you would recommend?
  11. Are you saying if we can somehow make it through TT precalc that would be the equivalent of College Algebra?
  12. I have not seen the Junior Master Gardener program. I will look into that. Sounds interesting.
  13. Wanted to do a fun but useful course for science in 8th grade before getting into high school. I would love something that would teach practical skills as well such as soil amending even maybe identifying herbs. Is that just too far out there?
  14. I am planning on using Teaching Textbooks Alg 1, Geo, and Alg 2(if we can make it through) but will need a 4th math credit. I think Precalculus will be pushing it for my daughter. Is there something else we can take for 4th math credit ? The Teaching Textbooks pre algebra seems to be working so far...
  15. I'm in FL and I don't do the standardized testing. Just an evaluation by a certified teacher. Thanks for the ideas.
  16. My daughter recently read A Wrinkle in Time by L'Engle and several others in the series and wants to read some more sci fi. Any suggestions?
  17. Since this is completely computer based what do you put in your portfolio for records for the year?
