  1. No I do not. I have yet to even mention her name. How am I provoking?

I started a thread because I was CURIOUS how you can post from one thread to another and CURIOUS why that particular post was even quoted.

You're provoking because you named the group by name. If you were sincerely CURIOUS about how the quote feature worked you would have asked about that. You wouldn't have said "Look! The atheists are talking about me again!"

  2. I've been having really bad experiences with Century Link. Unfortunately they're all we can get where I live. It almost never works as it should and is a huge pain to try to get them to fix it. Most of the time I wind up setting my phone up as a hot spot and using the internet like that. It works much better. Luckily we move in 2 months so I won't have to deal with it for long.

I've been a huge fan of USAA for the last 13 years. But the last 2 times I've talked to them, I've received horrible service. One guy yelled at me because the POA I had sent him was expired and said he was going to report me for trying to steal information off of dh's account. I guess he never made a mistake in his life. I was at work last week and my boss was talking to them about something and I could hear the guy yelling at her from where I was. Either they're slipping or I've had bad luck.

Dh and I have been going to a lot of different campgrounds the last few months and every single one of them we've received wonderful service. I know we're talking about big companies here but I'm always surprised by how friendly and nice campground owners/workers are.

  3. I think dh and I would find a way to travel and dh and I would work a lot on our hobbies - music, crafting instruments, and raising children, of course ;).

I refuse to believe I would follow the statistics that say 80% or so of all lottery winners eventually regret winning their money. I can beat the odds - really I can! :D

Fwiw, the best cure for sleeplessness I've ever tried is to imagine you've won a huge amount of money and then spend it in your mind. Say I've won $160 million, subtract, what - $70 million for taking a lump sum leaves $90 mil. Take out $40 mil for taxes (I have no idea, really) which leaves $50 mil. $5 mil to the church. Trust funds for the kids - I'll get to that later. Lets see, give $2 mil to each immediate family member leaves $33 or plan to give $10K in tax exempt gifts to each family member plus spouses and children from both dh and I every year for the next 20 years which comes to $9.2 mil although if i invest a large sum and use the interest it won't effect the principle....are you asleep yet?

This is exactly what goes on in my head at night when I can't sleep too! I add in a few million to pay off my siblings' debts and buy them new houses and vehicles. Not sure if it's true or not but in my head it is tax exempt if I just pay it for them.

  4. Dd's friend (12) is spending the next few days with us and her mom told dh last night that she has Asperger's. Is there anything I should know? Do I need to worry about over stimulating her? We have a ton of activities planned so now I'm rethinking if she's a huge introvert like me. The mom said she won't speak up if she's having a problem with something. For example, she gets car sick but won't let us know if she has to throw up. I don't want to bother her with questions every 5 minutes but obviously I don't want her to be miserable the whole time. According to dh, the mom didn't seem a bit worried.

  5. Dh and I were looking into this a few weeks ago. The butcher told us it was $3.99/lb so it would come out right at $500 and that included all packaging. They had a list of what is included but we could swap it around until we got the right amount of pounds. So if we didn't want ground beef we could swap it for certain kinds of steak. But we couldn't get something that wasn't on the list.

  6. I bought dd, her friend, and me tickets to her concert in Sept. but then dd decided all of a sudden she hates Taylor Swift. Ugh! I managed to sell the tickets to a friend but I was secretly pretty disappointed because I really wanted to go.

  7. I used to think that every time a plane went overhead that they would drop a bomb on us but going inside or under a blanket would save me.

And I used to think that the purple people eater would eat me if I rode my bike too far from the house without my brother. Apparently he lived on the other side of the hill in the neighbors backyard.

  8. We live in the DC area, and hubby has to commute everyday. It's about 1 to 1 1/2 to get to work each day and 2 hours to get home. Honestly, I think the man has the patience of a saint. I could not do it. I avoid those areas at peak times and stick to back roads whenever possible. I try to travel on weekends and on Sunday when it's less traffic.

What you're dealing with sounds like our Korea experience...I took a bus everywhere so I didn't have to drive with three small kids. Dh drove everywhere, and everyday....there were numerous accidents and bumps in traffic. I don't miss living there with the crazy traffic of Seoul.

When I read the op I had flashbacks to living in Seoul too. I rarely drove at first but after a while I just got used to it but still didn't drive too much because of the lack of parking. I don't miss big city living at all.

  9. Ds advanced into Webelos 2 Saturday night and dh was officially welcomed as new den co-leader. I'm not sure he knows what he's getting into. :) We did lose our charter with the Baptist church but a new church jumped at the opportunity to take us. I believe they are still working out the details so I don't think it is a done deal yet.

  10. I'm not sure but I know we can only do one thing at a time. We have centurylink and I hate it. We only have Netflix, no cable so either somebody can play on the computer or we can watch tv. We can only use one computer at a time. Sometimes my ipad or phone will pick up the wireless and it'll be okay but not always. But it's the only place that has service out here in the middle of nowhere.
