  1. I agree with the having access to more stuff...I just find it unfair that I have to pay for slower shipping than others. Maybe I am unjust in my thought process, but still....
  2. I just wished Amazon could prorate their subscription fee based not only the average shipping/delivery to a certain area based on warehouse locations but also on services desired...for example, I never use the music streaming services and the book streaming services. I would prefer to pay for only those services I use...instead of "all inclusive" option only. I just think it stinks that I pay the same price for less.
  3. If you have amazon prime....how long does it take for you to receive your orders? I am asking because I pay full price for prime....as does my brother in Austin, TX. We pay the exact same amount for prime, however, simply because he lives in a large city, he can get his prime items the same day or the next day....where as I have to wait 5-7 days for my items and yet I pay the exact same amount for the service. I feel Amazon should offer different price points for Prime based on the average number of days it takes to received ordered items. This is a big frustration for me and I have questioned whether or not we will continue our service after our subscription runs out. I can get faster orders from Wal-mart and the other places. So I was just curious if this is a nation wide issue...or just for me in rural Nebraska.
  4. So how much past the best buy, use by etc dates do you use/keep shelf stable, pantry food items? I am not taking about meat or cheese, but rather boxed, canned, bottled items....for example, BBQ sauce, ketchup, boxed mac n cheese, mayo, canned soup... I know that a lot of this kind of food is not the best choice of food....but it's not for me...it's for a neighbor who is going through older pantry items and trying to decide if stuff should just be pitched....or if it is still safe to eat. We are not talking 10 year old or anything...more like 1-2 years (tops).... So what is your comfort level when it comes to stuff like this?
  5. My wrist is feeling a lot better and the only thing I did was wear a wrist brace 24/7 for a week.....and today it feels normal. I will just be more diligent on if I start feeling pain again to put the brace back on. I am also trying hard to watch how my wrists bend while on the computer (which I tend to be on a lot). I am hoping both things will keep my wrist happy.
  6. I got a good brace yesterday...it's helped with sleeping...but i am still having pain when I try to do things. I don't expect it to be perfect, but I didn't expect the amount of pain still. But maybe I am being too impatient.
  7. Do you mean when you tap the underside of my wrist I would feel pain? If so there is no tenderness at all... just when I move it in certain ways do I have pain.
  8. yesterday I developed sharp pains in my right wrist. Comes and goes....but when it comes it really hurts. I am trying to identify it as either carpal tunnel or tendentious. I have no numbness in my fingers or hands. The pain is ONLY in my wrist. (thus I think it might not be CT) BUT, when I google the difference between the 2, I have read over and over again that if it's CT the pain is on the palm side of my wrist, but if it's tendentious, then the pain will be on the pinky side of the non-palm side....BUT my pain is on the pinky side of the palm of my wrist. From what I have read CT is a constant pain and mine is only with some movements. However, I woke up 3 times last night in major pain until I stretched out my wrist some. So....I am not sure...and maybe it doesn't matter.... what do you guys think and what should I do for it? I am not a fan of pain meds. I have been bracing it, but I know I have the wrong size brace because it doesn't fit very snuggly. But I also don't know exactly what kind of brace to get...there are so many. Help me with your thoughts and opinions please. Thanks.
  9. What is a ersatz thermometer? Crochet maybe...or knitting loom.
  10. Those animals are so cute.
  11. I guess this is an idea that has been around for a long time...but I just now learned about them. Very cool in my opinion. (in case someone here was like me and never heard of these, basically it's a knitted or crocheted blanket that is made with different colored stripes each color representing the high temp on every day of the year. ) I then saw where someone made a snake stuffed animal for the temperatures that represented a child's first year of life. So then I was thinking, I would like to do something like this....maybe to someday sell or give as gifts, but I am trying to figure out something. the size of the blanket is a large project and I would like something smaller for myself (to start with)....but what I am not super excited about a stuffed snake, but I will do it if I can't think of anything else. I did consider a scarf...but I am not a scarf wearer either. Any other thoughts for me? Thanks.
  12. thank you. Feel free to use it. Let me know what you decide to do.
  13. not that much honey.....but good thought. That would make my husband happy. :)
  14. I have a great source of honey and I need some ideas (aka recipes if needed) on how to use it. I know the whole putting in biscuits, pancakes, with peanut butter on toast options. I just need more ideas. Thanks.
  15. do you think I could put this on our FB page? I love this...what a great way to introduce our program.
  16. thanks....that looks delicious!
  17. I am the librarian of a small, rural public library. I am planning on adding a new "take and make it" program for our adults....I am calling it "Spicing it up at the Library". Basically it's a program where I will supply a sample of a spice, 3-4 recipes and some background information about the spice....where it's sourced from, how it's sourced etc. We are from a small town, mid-western town and I sincerely believe the spices and the recipes NEED to be within the people's comfort zone, or they won't pick them up. The ingredients need to be either in our patron's kitchens or easily obtained. The spices can not be weird or super unusual. The spices I am right now considering are: ginger, celery seed, cumin, tumeric, tarragon and fennel. I would love to know your opinions on these and if you might happen to have an amazing recipe that I should consider, I would LOVE to know it. thanks for both your opinions and your recipes!
  18. oh my handwriting is HORRIBLE....I would have to go back to school to learn to write nicely....(If they even teach handwriting in school anymore). But I have to say, I love homemade cards....I keep those....the store ones, I trash, nearly every time.
  19. that's a nice thought. I like it. I used to be a teacher, so I totally understand needing extra hats and mittens....plus new things to play with. thanks.
  20. What else do you knit on looms? I have done the hat thing... but what else do you do?
  21. Interesting idea. You make socks on circular looms? Might you have a pattern to share?
  22. now that is interesting....but expensive....like you said. Hmmm...
  23. It's discontinued. 😞... but it might help me find something similar
  24. So you think I could use cheap acrylic yarn or cotton yarn to test out the craft? I just didn't know if using the wrong yarn would make the process harder...or even different enough that it wouldn't be a fair test.
