  1. Yes, we're expecting our second child. Best wishes for everyone! :001_smile:
  2. Thanks, sarahv! Unfortunately, Ruth Beechick's Parent/Teacher guide is written for use with the original readers and does not correlate to the revised eclectic readers I have. :( http://www.amazon.com/McGuffeys-Eclectic-Readers-William-McGuffey/dp/0471294284/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1218208357&sr=1-1
  3. Hello! I'm a new member to this forum, and new to homeschooling. This year I shall be homeschooling my son in Kindergarten. Now for my question... At what pace have you used the McGuffey Primers and Eclectic Readers? We have gone through the first 15 lessons in the Primer (1890's edition) at the rate of one lesson per day, with the convenient "review" (every 5th day in the Primer) on Fridays. However, I have read elsewhere of people choosing to stay on each lesson for two weeks! Do any of you have experience with these books? At which rate did you progress? Is there a suggested rate in the updated WTM? (I have the first edition...Yes, I intend to order the new ed. in Feb.!):blushing: At 1 lesson per day, we'll finish the Primer, 1st and 2nd readers this year. At 1 lesson per two days, we'll complete the Primer and 1st grade reader this yr. At 1 lesson per week, we'll finish just the Primer. Thank you very much for your replies!:001_smile:
