  1. I purchased an iPad for my son for a few online classes in high school and am so happy we did so. He has a much easier time with it than the desk top as it is more like a book than the monitor. It does not do everything a desk top computer does but probably about 90%. Right now it does NOT support Flash although it probably will in the future. Some videos are in Flash. But it is easier to take notes, print from, research... I am very happy with it but if your child needs to watch a lot of internet videos for class there might be some issues with Flash. Kim
  2. Thanks for all the information! I would never be able to do this on my own!!!
  3. I am looking at SAT, ACT and Florida college Pert tests to enter dual enrollment
  4. I am in Florida and didn't realize that you could use the school testings if I am home schooling. I thought I was completely on my own if home schooling
  5. In Florida, Physical or Earth Science is a requirement for high school so it would have to be taken 8th grade and up. Just something to look into for your planning.
  6. Hi, My son will be a homeschooling high school junior this next year. He is doing awesome in school taking online Honor classes, classes with me, and classes at co op. He is excelling in all of them and is getting bored with high school courses. I was looking at dual enrolling him at the local community college and gave him a practice college entrance exam (three times) and was shocked that he bombed them, even after going over each one - he bombed the next. Any suggestions??? Thanks, Kimberly
  7. After many years of arguing and struggling with my homeschooler child, the doctor asked me if she is dyslexic. I looked into it and she does have certain characteristics but my insurance will not cover the full test. She is 11 now and I changed her curriculum to cover more hands-on curriculum and she learned more in a month than her whole life. We are not AS frustrated with each other and this past year was actually good. Is there a way to get her tested without spending too much money - as if so, do we work through her issues or would it benefit her to label her as learning disability? Also, her math, grammar, spelling, reading is where we had much success. If anyone can suggest history and science we still need work!! Thanks, Kimberly
