  1. Thanks for the heads up! I liked how the Building Good Character set referenced the stories from Devotional Stories for Little Folks. Do you think it would be difficult to leave the very Catholic things out? Thanks!
  2. What curriculum items do you love from CHC? We aren't Catholic so I don't need the strictly teaching religion items. From the samples Building Good Character, Devotional Stories for Little Folks, Behold & See science, and Tour a Country all look really good. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
  3. Hi, I really like the looks of this. Has anyone aligned any living books or any type of curriculum/study guide to use with it? I will be using this with ages 4th-8th. I have Vol 2 1790-1877 and am considering getting Vol 3, and 4. Thanks!
  4. Hi, LOVE the Usborne Beginners books. I know that Sonlight uses them but was wondering if anyone else has created activity pages or teaching ideas to use with them? I don't want to buy the whole science set just for the one book activity pages. Thanks! Andrea
  5. Thanks for the responses! Do you know if the movie version comes in a DVD? Our library just had vhs :(
  6. Oh, great! I will check with the library! Good idea! Thanks for the responses!
  7. It sounds great!! I love the comparison between the original and the MFW version. Thanks so much! I just wish I would have ordered one when I placed an order earlier this month to save on shipping!!
  8. I think PBS put out a condensed version of Hakim's history but am not 100% sure. There is also a DVD set too but it looks like it costs $200 for the DVDs! Anyone use this for a year's study of American history and if so, what did you think of it? Thanks!
  9. That helps a great deal, thank you!!! Everything you said makes perfect sense! Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!
  10. Thanks for all the responses. Those that used it do you think that the gentler approach will still teach all the skills. We mostly use/d CLE and Rod and Staff and those seems pretty rigorous to me or at least time wise, especially for CLE!
  11. Thanks, that helps a lot!! I saw a Teacher Guide at a curriculum sale locally for $1 and am wishing I would have grabbed it!!!
  12. Thanks for the response. You sounds like me in what you have used before. How do you like the Fix it Grammar? On a side note, do you feel it covers the grammar topics throughly or do they just fix mistakes with little instruction or review?
  13. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could let me know what they think of this program? I see they have a level 4 now. I am wondering if these are on grade level or a bit simpler, how thorough they are, and if people like them. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the responses! Do you find the guides to be more independent? The intermediate guide is for 4th-6th, I believe. Thanks!
  15. If so, I would love to hear your thoughts on it and what ages you think this is best suited for? I know it says 5th-8th but was wondering how others found it. Thanks!
  16. Hi, I am wondering what options are out there for combined history for 4th-8th, particularly American History? I know that Beautiful Feet has a one I believe and My Father's World. Any others? I prefer a Christian viewpoint if possible. Thanks!
