Glad others enjoyed it, I need to remember it more often. It is my personal memory work for this week!

 

There's also a very amusing poem "what will you eat" on that age that reminds me of my late grandfather, very much.

This was relevant and impactful for me this morning and thought it might encourage others.

I took a piece of plastic clay, And idly fashioned it one day;

Ds really likes MUS "vacuum" story for 8 and 9's. I could do without the slurping sounds on those problems, but he knows those facts cold! He also did well with math triangles for the ten families. We'll have to play go to the dump, he'd love that game,

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. We are new to homeschool and using sotw1 this year. I thought I remembered reding a link on this forum to a schedule organized by civilization using Sotw instead of just chronological/in order. Can anyone point me to that or suggest so,e search terms?

If you have an iPad or iPhone, we are loving the letter school app to reinforce handwriting in a fun, independent work way. You can choose which "font" they use, and I have ds do it with a stylus marker so it is closer to feel of pen and paper. This is a great learn on the go thing for us and if you're working on it nights and weekends, might be a good fit for you.

This must be a HOD user hangup!! ;) LHFHG was a great K overview of History. I love HOD but I've had my heart set on studying Ancients this next year. I have been spoiled by the HOD schedule, but found that it wasn't exactly what I wanted in each subject, but it was great in other ways. I kept telling my husband that I should write my own plans like HOD (with the neat boxes) but that was scheduled 4 days a week (one day blank for co-op or field trips), started with SOTW, had devotions scheduled daily, a better Science, etc... I already use my own LA and Math. We may still use Beyond this next year as DD enjoys it (but she does well with anything). Please let me know if how to make those neat HOD boxes on the computer. I would love to see your plans and am interested in knowing what other resources you are using.

 

 

 

We are doing Sotw 1 with a kinder and I'd love to see what other people's plans are! It's our first year of hs and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all the planning. Found this thread via search and would love to see Schedules!

Great deal for playmobil. I ordered, thinking we are doing SOTW 1 this year with a DS in K and this would be a nice add-on to that study or Christmas gift for him (he already loves playmobil and has other sets).

 

I didn't see the pyramid listed on the site, has it been discontinued? DS probably would love the temple and sphynix, but *I* feel the need to have the whole set ;)
