  1. Is Oak Meadow always this slow when fulfilling orders? I placed an order on the 4th. The next day they charged my card. Last week I received an email from them stating that orders were being filled and shipped within 7-10 days. Okay fine. Does that mean 7-10 BUSINESS days or just 7-10 days? I'm curious because according to my account online, my order is still being processed and hasn't shipped.

I know that this time of year is busy. Maybe I'm just impatient to get the new stuff. :D Maybe I'm feeling huffy because I was erroneously charged over $300 by another company and I still haven't received something that I ordered from someone almost a month ago. :glare:

  2. My MIL used to be like that. Then one day after DH and I had been married about five years and she was visiting - she rearranged my kitchen. I'm one of those people where it takes me a couple of weeks to figure out where I want stuff in the kitchen. And it STAYS in that place unless I move it.

When I got back from shopping and discovered MIL had rearranged the kitchen, I was fuming. I grabbed her by the hand, walked her out the front door to the porch. Shut the screen door in her face and told her when she remembered whose house she was at and could respect said persons and how they choose to do things, she could come back in but NOT a minute sooner. Then I shut and locked the front door.

Took her about five minutes to apologize and the last thirteen years have been much less stressful when they're visiting! :D

  3. At least it wasn't an email that's going to hang around long after you're dead.

We've been having an issue with mold in our base housing unit. Because of the lack of response from housing around the issue that's causing the mold, when we got black mold on our vents, I took a picture and texted it to DH. Along with the picture, I put a message that said I was tired of housing messing around and I'm getting ready to open a can of whoop a** on them and he may want to give his command a heads up. So, he sent the picture to his Chief, but he forgot to edit out my comments. :glare: His Chief then sent the picture and comments on to the command CO. :blushing:

  4. All I really know is that Fargo is literally just a few minutes drive away from my best friend in Moorhead, MN! :D

When I went to visit her one October it was snowing. And cold. And snowing. And cold. Did I mention it was cold? Oh - and they were just starting to harvest the sugar beets. We got to play "Dodge the beet" while driving behind one of the transport trucks.

They also have wild turkeys. And flatland and lots of wind. But property prices are pretty cheap. Oh, and it's cold. :D

  5. My husband is Navy and the uniforms kill me. Dress blues, dress whites, working uniforms (blue camouflage so they can hide in the ocean), black and tans... then he made CPO and they all changed plus he had to get khakis. Add in flight suits and the majority of his closet is uniforms.

    Forgot about PT gear, too...

:lol: DH is Navy and every time I see the blue fatigues I imagine a ship floating in the water and all you can see is a bunch of floating heads. That and you know if an enemy plane is flying overhead and they spot this warship in the water, but can't see anybody because of the fatigues, their first impression is going to be, "Move along. Nothing to see here!":lol:

(my apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread)

  6. If he gets a headache afterwards or during, I would suggest he see a neurologist along with this GP. I get ocular migraines and other chronic migraines. I've been dealing with them since I was seven and it can be scary when you're a kid.

When he gets an ocular migraine, note down what he's eaten in the last 24 hours, drank, any exercise, stress, what the weather was like, etc. This may help you find out if he has any triggers and if he does you might be able to eliminate them and possibly prevent future episodes.

  7. We live in base housing in a townhouse complex. The house to our right is used for temporary lodging when they have to do work in another unit and the family can't be in it.

Last week a family moved in to that house and ever since it's been yelling, screaming and beating on walls. This morning there was a huge thump on the wall (all the stuff on that wall rattled), a baby started crying and then I heard a woman say, "Shut him the f*** up before I do." So, I called base police.

Base police came, talked to her and took my statement about what I heard. They told me this was not the first call they've received about her. Those poor kids. It breaks my heart that they have to live with that.

Parents like that make me sooooooo mad. :cursing: Makes me want to reach out and slap someone but I know it won't do any good.

  8. I've had a Kenmore upright since 1998. That freezer has been through so much that I'm surprised it hasn't run away. Multiple military moves, being plugged into a power converter that didn't work quite right for years, sitting in storage for months in 120 degree heat, multiple power outages due to hurricanes, ice storms etc. Love my upright and wouldn't give it up for anything. :D

  9. I friend pointed me to these and I thought you guys might enjoy them. There is some naughty language (particularly in the first link). Don't say you weren't warned!
