  1. Here is my situation. I started out with Singapore 1A Standard Edition with my 7yr old son last year for first grade and Early Bird for my K son . Well my K son flew through the early bird and it took my oldest an entire year to complete 1A. I thought if we keep going this rate he would been behind. I talked to my hubby and we decided this year to start both boys 1st grade and 2nd grade in MUS Alpha. Now I wish I would have just started my oldest in SM 1B and my youngest in 1A . They both seem to like MUS alot especially the blocks and they get the concepts. I would really like to add SM back into our schedule but I'm not sure if it's going to be too much! I really liked the way SM had them calculating math in their heads and had them thinking.

How should I schedule SM with MUS Alpha???

  2. Over the Christmas break we went from being a non video family to having two video game systems in the house. I knew we would get a Wii for Christmas because my mom and I decided to go half and buy it for my family. Than on Christmas day my husbands aunt and uncle called and asked if it was ok to stop over the house because they got the kids a gift that they would enjoy. And guess what it was?.another Wii with extra remotes and a charging station and extra games with batteries. They were a little dissapointed when they walked in the door to find out we already had a Wii. My boys had know idea what the gift was. Everything was wrapped in a big gift bag. We kept all the Wii extras and my hubby and I thanked them for the generous gift and told them they could just take the Wii back for a refund. They looked a little disappointed but said ok. Well on New Years Eve they came over with the X-box 360 system along with the Kinect. I really don't like the idea of having two games in the house but the boys and my hubby are excited! They also stated that the X-box system was also our anniversary gift which is in Feb. Forgot to mention our oldest boy will be 8 soon and the youngest is 6.5.

How do you handle having two game systems in the house? Does the Wii and X-box kinect do the sme thing?

I'm thinking about returning the Wii since my mon and I paid for it and adding the extra money to buy a lap top since we could use another one.

  3. Hubby just stated he doesn't like the implication of them. I knew we talked when the boys were babies that we didn't want them playing with toy guns but I thought because they were Nerf guns they would be fun! These are the kids first time with any type of toy gun and they really think they are fun. My hubby also stated that one of his brothers became in love with guns and got in lots of trouble with the law. Maybe this is the issue and not Nerfs!

  4. We are really enjoying our day! Everthing was a hit. Nerf guns(got hubby one but didn't get myself one what was I thinking!), inline skates, Everything star wars(Lego sets, light saber, books, star wars Mr.Potato head, Vader dress up outfit, and the Wii system with the star war complete saga game.
