  1. Am I the only one who wants more info about 3 women co-owning 2 houses? I'm picturing modern-day Golden Girls but before retirement. I would love to hear more about how this came to be! You certainly don't have to share that. I guess I mean to say that I think it's awesome! As to the question posed, I think that fixing up an abandoned house is always good for a neighborhood. And I agree with others who pointed out how people at the party probably interpreted your comment. Maybe think of another way to phrase it if it bothers you how others react. But good for you and your friends for being so financially stable that you can do this!

  2. Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I'm heading to small claims court next month, so I'm following. In our case, a contractor took a deposit and didn't do the work. It appears he has done this before under a different business name. It's maddening! I hope your case goes well for you!

  3. I can so relate to this!! Reading the other replies is fascinating to me. Separate beds? Separate rooms??? In my dreams! My dh looks at me like I've killed his puppy when I ask him to back off! He falls asleep in half a breath while I lay there wide awake, listening to every exhale and waiting for the inevitable twitch of his hand, which is where I don't want it to be. Like you, I often let him cuddle a bit then ask him to leave, but once in awhile, I fall asleep too, which he loves more than anything. (Sigh)

  4. It sounds like you are trying to fill out a PDF form? If so, I have been able to do that by opening the file with a different web browser than my default. I think the one to use is Internet Explorer, but I'll have to look the next time I turn on my computer. Once opened, there should be some tools on the toolbar to help you add text. Googling this might help, but hopefully this will get you started. Oh, and don't forget to download your filled in form! My boss did that and lost over an hour of work. If you need to continue editing, just open the file you saved the same way.

    Good luck!

  5. For your #1 issue, I had similar issues, and used similar remedies (plus some more), but pelvic floor exercises worked wonders for me. You can message me if you want more information. Meanwhile, my sympathies! I struggled for 3 years (!!) before seeing a specialist who recommended the exercises. Major bonus that no drugs were needed. It certainly couldn't hurt to try.

I'm still bitter that I took the time to transfer SO MANY cds to my original ipod.  At some point iTunes decided it was all pirated and disappeared it.  It took hours and I'm mad at them this many years later.

Amazon music did the same thing!! So I still have music on the computer, but never listen to it. ☹️

DH bought tickets for me as a surprise...in early 2020 😞

We know a lot of people who saw her recently when she played Boston (there were even special busses that took people down!) and they all reported it was amazing, even the people who went the night it was pouring.

    I hope you get lucky!

That was me!! In the pouring rain for 3 hours, and she was absolutely amazing! No regrets. Dd got an email about a week and a half before the show. She said it looked like it could be spam, but was willing to risk it. She scored 2 tickets for $90/ea!! Literally the last row in a massive stadium, and the wind was whipping  up there, but still amazing. Such a special experience we shared, and my respect for her as an artist grew more than I can put into words. She could have hidden under a shelter, like her opening acts did. She could have shortened her set. She could have had someone hold an umbrella over her! She did none of those things. She gave it her all for the entire show, and it was unforgettable. I have video of her swiping puddles of water off her piano, then proceeding to sing and play (I had no idea she played piano)! Pretty sure that piano died that day.

    Good luck!

  8. I'm surprised no one else has responded to this. We currently use this one, although the price is crazy, MacroLife Naturals Macro s Powder - 38 Superfood Mineral, Enzyme, Antioxidant and Herbal Blend - Plant-Based Immune, Energy and Cleanse Vegan, Gluten-Free, Green, 1.87 Pound , 30 oz https://a.co/d/ePjWn5f

We have used a few over the years, but I'd have to dig a bit to figure out which ones. Some of them are gross tasting, but those ones are probably healthier! The one I linked tastes pretty good, but I often add Natural Calm to it, which makes it even better.

I will say that I feel better when I take it 2-3 times a day, but that very well could be because when I do that I'm making healthier choices in general.

  9. Cologuard is for people at low risk, so not advisable in your case. What I don't know is if your next colonoscopy is clear, does that change you to low risk, making you eligible for Cologuard? Or are you always going to be considered high risk? Perhaps that info is out there, but I haven't looked yet. (I'm in the same boat, btw, so I'd like to know!)

  10. Thank you all for your replies. My sincere condolences to those of you who have suffered losses (some of which I remember following on here). I have been very fortunate to not have experienced a loss like that. Anyone close to me who passed away had lived a good long life, and there has usually been an illness so there was time to prepare and say goodbye. Your insights have been very helpful. I'll continue to support her as I have been, and incorporate some of your ideas.

  11. It's been a year since her dh died. It was devastating, especially because they had sold their house and most of their possessions and were fulfilling their dream of traveling. So she not only lost her soul mate, but she didn't have a home to return to. She ended up moving in with one of her adult children, and going back to work, but she is keeping herself extremely busy - working 12 days in a row, for instance. When she's not working, she is babysitting her grandchild or helping her kids work on their houses. She has not felt ready to talk on the phone, let alone get together. Another friend saw her recently, only because she went to her dd's house, and although they had a nice visit, they were never left alone, and never talked about her loss. They never had a service of any kind, even though they had planned to do so. It just seems like she hasn't taken the time to grieve. I feel like I want to express my concerns to her, but I certainly don't want to make things worse. As it is, she typically takes a week or more to reply to my texts, if she replies at all. And although I think it was wise to move in with her dd, it put her a good distance from her friends.

I truly can't imagine her loss. They were so wonderful together, and he was such an amazing guy. I still can't believe he's gone, so I know it's much harder for her, especially with being uprooted. Should I just give her more time? Or is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  12. I have done this for a small non-profit for 2 years (and the organization has participated for about 4 years prior to my involvement). I wish I could give you pointers, but I have learned that it's difficult to predict what efforts are going to lead to more results/donations. We have seen other non-profits promote heavily on social media and some of them do great, but others don't - even though their efforts seemed similar. I think having people advocate for you (sharing info about the fundraiser and how they can help) can be effective, and also being very specific about how the money will be used. Pictures, videos and stories about how the students have benefitted from the program can help. If you can find an organization or generous individual (or group of individuals) who can offer a matching donation, something like every donation of $25 or more will be matched up until $X, that can sometimes motivate donations. You can also try using matching donations to meet goals, like unlocking those funds if 100 people donate, or if/when a certain dollar amount is reached. There are more tricks/tips, but like I said, I have yet to figure out which techniques yield the most results. Good luck!!
