  1. I am planning for grade 2 with my 7 year old. We completed FLL and WWE in Gr. 1. I recently came across the MCT curriculum and quite like it. Q1. Wondering whether to teach it this year or wait till we've covered FLL 2? Q2. Does MCT cover all our grammar needs? Or should I still do Voyages in English come Gr. 3? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
  2. Wondering, where do folks like purchasing encyclopedias from?
  3. Just read a previous post about the joy of flipping through a printed encyclopedia and could definitely relate to that. Perhaps I should go for print version after all? Any recommendations either way? Print or digital?
  4. What encyclopedia would you recommend for 7 year old that's an advanced reader? (Reading at 4th grade level). I am ONLY interested in digital versions please, as shipping to where I live would be too expensive. I appreciate your feedback very much!
  5. Looking forward to meeting homeschoolers in the GTA... Would be lovely to network and share tips and tricks, not to mention meeting up occasionally with or without kids. Lida
  6. I've just ordered mine, with notches...waiting for the shipment to arrive. I've never used these rods before and am wondering, what is the the advantage of the no notches one? Regards, Lida
  7. We have the audio book and quite enjoy it. It is very well done and gives me a short little -much appreciated break- while the kids listen. I find I don't really use the book much and in hind sight, could have done fine without the book. Lida
  8. What is the best option for purchasing curriculum in Ontario? I'm thinking widely used stuff like Singapore Math, Math U See, SOTW, etc. The only supplier I know of is Rainbow Resources. And of course, Amazon.com, but they don't have a discounted shipping to Canada deal like Rainbow (I think). Or is it better to make a huge purchase off a US site (any suggestions?) and ship to a PO Box in Buffalo and go down to pick it up there? I really appreciate any tips you may have. Very new at this, Lida
