I think the same post had the typo 'husbank' for 'husband'.
Which I thought was at least as funny as the “book” typo, but it never caught on.

There are definitely cleaners who will work by the hour. You’re more likely to find a solo cleaner to be flexible than a large company. Ask around and be clear when you talk to them exactly what you are looking for.

It took me about a month. I was taking an exercise class at the time and having to glance at the floor made me feel like vomiting. Stuck it out and eventually adjusted.

My step daughter takes a recipe for a 9” pie, doubles the pecans and makes two 8” pies. Helps with the sweetness factor.
I just use the recipe on the dark Karo bottle—dark Karo (duh) and white sugar, and extra pecans.- 1

IMO, it’s about as good as you are going to get. I sew and am particular about matching. Given the constraints of curved surfaced juxtaposed with flat ones, I don’t see how to realistically get much better.

Llbean chamois shirt. Doesn’t come in tall. I think chamois is thicker than flannel.

Divorced recently. Since the kids were grown, I decided to revert to my maiden name and made it known at mediation. A month later, xh wrote me and prohibited me from using his name after the divorce. 😝 The control is strong with that one.

Hmm, I didn’t think she toned it down at all… anyway, I agree the depicting of housecleaning is insanely unrealistic.
I saw heard forward and rounded shoulders on occasion that I do not associate with extensive ballet training. YMMV

It’s the only decent thing on TV so I’m watching. However, I do not find the actress for the main role convincing at all. There’s something slightly…aristocratic? About the way she carries herself that doesn’t work with this role. I’’ very familiar with the scenarios she finds herself in, including DV shelters, etc and I feel often people are a bit… slumped down from just the weight of it all.
As for the aristocratic carriage of Margaret Qualley, she trained as a ballerina. I had to look that up after some of the dancing scenes. I thought she did a pretty good job of toning down her posture, if in fact she did.
In general, I found Maid pretty triggering and had to take breaks. I am recently divorced from a marriage that had elements of psychological abuse. Also, my family of origin was abusive and neglectful. I can’t figure out if the despair that is inherent in abusive relationships was well represented.
What was funny to me was the completely unrealistic depiction of house cleaning. Three hours to clean a large house and she was cleaning the oven and washing windows? But hey, it’s just a show.

I’m wondering if sense of purpose is tied closely to values? Maybe that is so obvious and I’m just a dork. 🤣 Are they just two ways of expressing the same thing? Or different in some way?

Have the obvious culprits been ruled out? Washing with soap and friction? Alcohol to kill more bacteria?

I would take (and have taken) the path of more listening than telling. What is appealing about the substance? What need is being met? Recognizing and validating unmet needs is, IMHO, way more effective than punishment. Whether the teen is open to discuss would tell me a great deal. I have one that was a closed book and one that is quite open. Maintaining the relationship was my primary goal for both and looked quite different for each.
ETA My sig is out of date. Adult kids now 24 and 22.

I have that!!!! There wasn't any hassle? Did you just bring your copy?
No hassle. Just brought a tax return and they accepted it without issue.

I used a tax return for real ID when I couldn’t find my card.

I have been called at least 5 times since moving here (Georgia). Served on 3 juries. STBXH called once in that same time, didn’t get selected.

Ds turned 21 and my mother turned 85 yesterday. Absent COVID19, ds would have been at college partying with friends. As it was, I had a delightful dinner with my mother and ds. I gave ds the AirPods I had told him I was not going to do, so he was thrilled with that.

I do, but it is totally suppressed. The key lab result for me was the reverse T3, which showed I wasn’t converting T4 to T3. It came in line when I switched meds.

Since you are on Synthroid I will add what worked for me.
I had been on Synthroid for 3 decades and was feeling like crap, so I found a doctor that was good with natural desiccated thyroid and Cytomel, a T3 only med. Changing from 150mcg Synthroid to 90mg Armour plus 20mcg Cytomel reduced my LDL from 200 to 125 with no diet changes. Also dropped 25 pounds.

I think the reverse T3 is telling you that you are not converting T4 to T3 well. Have you had it checked in the past? Since Selenium is needed to convert, I am wondering why you reduced your dose?
I can tell when my reverse T3 is high because even if my free numbers look decent I feel like crap. I need Cytomel (T3 only) as well as Armour to feel half way decent. On Synthroid only, my rT3 was 40 something. Switching to Armour brought it down to 20s, then adding Cytomel brought it down to mid teens.

Is it always better to do couples therapy?
in The Chat Board

Speaking as a fairly recently divorced person. We did some couples therapy which seemed to help at first, but then was weaponized against me. So it depends on the persons involved and the issues. Individual therapy may be more helpful.
