  1. I like having a candle burning most of the day.  I treated myself to Posh hand lotion and moisturizer after trying them out in the little packs.  My youngest dd loves to come in my room use my hand lotion.

I like pretty pens that flow smoothly on my planner.  Mysteriously, my pens disappear so I don’t have a favorite to recommend.

I like soft, fuzzy socks to wear around the house, and fun, colorful socks to wear out and about.

I treat myself to Mrs. Meyers cleaner to inspire me to clean.  I don’t think it cleans any better than dish soap or Mr Clean, but I enjoy the scents.

Hope those give you some ideas.

Well, make today day 1, and you can still do 20 in 20, it just won't line up with OUR 20 in 20! You can do this!

Would it help to fit it in if you did the Walk at Home videos on youtube? There are a bunch that are only 15 minutes, and labeled as 1 Mile. For me, it is much easier to convince myself I have time when I KNOW it will only be 15 minutes, and I don't have to worry about weather, if I need to take the dogs or not, etc.

Heck, half the time I start dinner then turn on the video - which means sometimes part of the video I'm walking to the kitchen to flip something over or take something out of the oven! I figure, I'm still walking so it counts. This one is one of my favorites:

    Great idea!  Thanks

  3. Here it is day 14 and I’ve only gotten one day in.  Don’t think I’ll make the goal.  The days are filled and go so fast.  I thought I was only a day or two behind until I saw the title of this post.  It really is the middle of November and not the beginning.  Seems like Halloween was just yesterday.

  4. Are you guys up for deep cleaning before decorating for Christmas?  Could you focus on one room a day?  If you do that between now and Thanksgiving, your house will be all ready to deck out for the holidays, unless of course you already keep it like that anyway.

I’m sure this plan won’t thrill your kids!

  5. I can relate to other people not seeing “the mess” in my house.

This Sunday, we had our new neighbors over for a socially distanced outdoor cookout (their choice to be outdoors).  I was relieved while getting ready because I was unexpectedly busy all week out of the house and so since we were outside, I didn’t stress about the inside although my kitchen and family room were clean.  Dh was out front when they came over and they were talking for a bit, so I stayed out back to get the fire going.  Next thing I know, everyone was tromping through the house!  I was not happy.  Dh knew it too.  (And it was confusing since they said they’d prefer an outside gathering at this time)

I had to leave before the evening was over and I was gone for 6 hours.  The husband also had to leave about 2 minutes after I left.  Dh said don’t worry everyone else stayed (the grandma, whose about my age, lives with them too) and helped him everything clean up.  So, when I came home, I was expecting Dh to have put everything away - leftover food, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and the trash taken out.  What I came home was just everything that was outside was just now in the kitchen (trash was in the overflowing trash can, but not emptied) waiting for me. Not sure what Dh did during the six and a half hours I was gone, but it didn’t involve putting leftovers away, loading the dishwasher, and taking out the trash.

  6. Maybe this haircut will grow out into one that you like.

I got a haircut a few months before my wedding.  The hairdresser had been to a hair show in NY and thought this new style would look great on me.  It did not.  However, it grew in perfect for my wedding day - I could not recreate the style that it grew into for anything, but it was a blessing after the butcher haircut that I had a few months before.  Luckily, because I was too scared to get my haircut before my wedding.

I am expecting a cheaper bike by UPS today -- it was highly rated by Runner's World for cross-training. DH sent me a link to a deal for the Peloton app, so I'm going to give that a shot and see how it goes. We have long, cold winters and are likely to be quarantined for COVID (DS has a friend who is sick and waiting on test results), so I need something active to do!

What’s the bike you are getting?

    Recycling bin?

No, thank goodness.  Kitchen counter.  If he forgets it, I’m going to leave it up to him to figure it out.  I think you are charged a fee if you don’t have it filled out during the appointment, but I did what I could do to make sure it was remembered in the morning.

  9. Dd has to have a form filled out at the dentist tomorrow.  Dh is taking her.  I put the form in his car so he won’t forget it in the morning.

Guess where I just saw the form?  Hint....not in the car

I bought this several months ago and love it.  For the price it does really good and makes the floors seem so much cleaner than just pushing dirt around.https://www.walmart.com/ip/BISSELL-PowerFresh-Steam-Mop-with-Discs-and-Scrubber-1940W/43351247

I have this, or one similar.  One of the discs stopped spinning on the floor (spins in the air).  Haven’t had time to figure it out.

I’ve been using that for a couple of years, but after pulling our my floor scrubber, which sucks up the dirty water like a carpet cleaned, it made me wonder how well the spinner mop actually cleans.

eta:  makes me consider if I should get the steamer thing that Spy Bill recommends.

I didn't mean to laugh but the thought of getting people and animals to cooperate with a clean floor fills like a joke to me.

I often just sit in a recently cleaned room and enjoy it, just for a minute or two. I know that is the only enjoyment I will get out of it. If I walk to a different room and come back, it's all over.

My rooms don’t even stay clean a minute!  The dog gets her toys back out before I even get a chance to vacuum and the other dog knocks off the pillows on the couch as soon as I straighten them up (used to blame the kids!).

The family can’t even wait until I’m done mopping before hopping through the kitchen.

(and I intended this to be light hearted, not genuinely concerned about having a floor clean enough to eat off of , although it would be lovely to experience!)
