  1. Our small private school uses it. It is a decent program, not very rigorous in K and 1, but ramps up a bit in 2nd. It is hands on, lots of games. I am sure there are better and worse programs, but all in all, this one is not bad.

  2. This sounds just like my DS. He positively despised Math Mammoth. He loves LOF (and MCT), he enjoyed CTC's Math Detective and Balance Math. He liked all the Sir Cumference Books (not a curriculum, but a nice supplement). For daily review, he does the Math Minute books. Primary Grade Challenge Math is hit or miss with him because he generally has a lot of trouble with word problems.

I think he would like Beast Academy and may bite the bullet when C comes out.

  3. I am a loyal Today show viewer and while I thought Ann Curry was a very good newsreader, (and I am sure a lovely person), I could not stand watching her give interviews or "banter" with her co-hosts.

I wish her well but am not sorry to see her leave this position.

  4. I've had my son using a binder for several years. We call it his "Hero" binder. Hero stands for "have everything ready and organized." :D

It's a view binder, and I design a new cover for him every year. It always has HERO on it somewhere, and this last year I was able to find a cartoon boy that looked just like him wearing a superhero costume. It was cute! My ds hasn't been into making his own cover, so I've been doing it for him. One of these days maybe he'll want to do it himself. :tongue_smilie:

    I LOVE this!

  5. Dd does the pacing on the phone thing. I wonder why that happens. I wonder if it is because she talks with her hands but needs the hands for the phone.

You may be on to something there. I do tend to talk with my hands. However, I am sitting now typing and just noticed that my legs are bouncing up and down. There probably just needs to be some part of me moving all the time. Huh.

  6. I have the balcony high places fear/jump thing too.

Also, the "I can't take the first book/magazine/whatever off the shelf", I need a "clean" one from the back of the pile.

I don't think this has been posted yet, but I seem to be unable to sit still while talking on the phone. I have to pace. It is OK when I am home but a little weird when I am at work.

I am pretty territorial about my pillow. If someone falls asleep on it, I have no problem yanking it out from under them. Gently of course, LOL.
