I read somewhere about pictures of the guests. Everyone is always so dressed up and looking their best, a picture memento would be nice. But I’m not sure how costly that would be. I like the consumable gifts- coffee is cute. Around here we see mainly cookies or chocolates.

We went to a wedding that gave guest pictures. The bride had a friend doing mini Polaroids right before you were seated for the ceremony. They took one for her guest book and a second one for the guest to keep.

  2. They are in Idaho now, headed to Oregon for the night and should arrive in Washington tomorrow. It’s been a lot of long drives, but they’re loving seeing snow. This morning they saw wild horses behind their Wyoming hotel, and a magpie in the parking lot (we don’t have those here 😂). They have the Cabbage Hill pass today and hopefully it will go well- the weather seems ok.

  3. The stuff you think sounds really obvious is not at all obvious to us. They have some experience with icy roads, almost none with snow. Snow experiences =we’ve seen it before once every 5 years or so 😂. We wore short sleeve shirts on Christmas the past 2 years, etc.  Please assume neither I nor they know anything about what they’re getting into.

And thanks again for all the great tips! We’re looking at getting the route changed to the one that starts with I-70. It only adds a couple of hours to the drive and you all seem to think it’s much safer.

I-80 goes through Utah, not Idaho. I’m guessing you mean I-90 which runs through Cœur d’Alene which is not anywhere I’d want to be in a winter storm. They have no flexibility on route?

What route would you recommend? Coming up the pacific coast adds tons of distance and I-80 seems to be higher elevations. Honestly none of us has any idea- this is very far from home for all of us.

  5. At the end of November, DD and SIL are moving across the country from the Southeast to Washington (state). They are pretty sure they need snow chains for at least the drive there, but none of us have any experience with actual winter. How and where does one get snow chains? Is it true some states (Montana) require them to be in the car in winter?  What other tips do you have for them? Safety information, clothing ideas, anything would be helpful.  Date of move cannot be changed as it is due to military.

I read a review that said some girls were beating up baby dolls and yelling/cheering that they don't have to be mothers anymore.  Those of you who have seen it, is this true?

Technically yes, but in a funny way. The movie is definitely pro-moms.

  7. One thing to think about- many large transplant programs have what they call donation chains. You could donate on behalf of your nephew, and if you don’t match him, he would get “credit” for your donation. The hospital is able to form groups of people where a donor for one patient may actually donate to someone else, and your person gets their actual kidney from someone in the chain that is their ideal match.

Ill try to find a link that explains it better.

I've had a similar reaction to a certain antibiotic. It was terrifying.

I'm not sure what the OP is looking for, exactly. Any medication--singular or in combination--can cause unexpected and dangerous side effects. In the end, I think we need to trust our doctors yet learn more about we are prescribed and not be afraid to ask questions. I suspect the answer to the OP is "nearly everything", depending on a multitude of factors.

Is there something specific you're concerned about, @TrulySusan

Yes, I am looking for something specific. My thread is a spin off question from a previous post, now deleted, about a young person who had a dramatic change after being on a combination of meds in the hospital, which a pharmacist knew was a bad idea, but doctors continued to prescribe. I would like to know that particular combination of drugs, since it is “known” to be problematic.

  9. Anybody know what combination of prescription medication can cause a person to become completely unhinged? As someone in the medical profession, it concerns me that I have no idea what combo could cause these kind of problems. Also, as a wife, mom, daughter, and friend, I would like to keep this from happening to me or anyone in my circle of people.
