  1. I heard that they do best in a 6'x6'x3' cage, with stuff for them to do... Mamaduck, Pedro is so cute!!!! I heard that they do like to chew, so you do not want plastic type items in their cage for that causes health issues. I also heard about their issues with heat. We live in Northern Michigan, so that is definately not an issue. Kelley
  2. My son is thinking that he would like to adopt a Chinchilla. What are your experiences? We do know that they take dust baths, and are nocturnal in nature. I appreciate any info. Thanks, Kelley
  3. My soon to be 10yos would like to have a Mario Birthday party this year. I was curious if anyone has planned one or attended one? He will be having a small party. We do have a Wii if that helps in the ideas? Thanks! Kelley
  4. Is this a suitable Algebra I program for a student whom is struggling with TT Algebra I? My daughter has had to repeat several lessons this past week. My daughter is not looking towards a college degree. She will be apprenticing in cosmetology. I was just curious what your thoughts were on this algebra program, or if there is a different program that is easy to understand for a struggling student. Thanks! Kelley
  5. The apprenticeship which my daughter is being offered is state approved. Lots of paperwork, etc... has to be filed. She has exams, she has to learn 20 hours a week, textbook, and does have a licensing exam at the end. The woman offering this to my daughter is a very loving woman. A great woman for my daughter to work under. We have known her for 12 years. Sometimes one can learn better by "doing", rather than sitting in a classroom. She will also have individual instruction..."private teacher", with loads of experience. She is also the owner, so she will have that type of experience too. Same with her dance instructor. I am thankful that my daughter is able to persue her "loves". I have appreciated everyone's insight. Kelley
  6. My daughter is planning on being apprenticed to be a hairdresser during the last 2 years of high school. She is also planning on being a dance instructor. She has been dancing since she has been 4. She assists in some classes and learns how to instruct. She has graded ballet exams, and will eventually be taking teacher exams. How do you adapt your high school years, for the non-college bound student? Fortunately I live in a state with very little regulation. Thanks, Kelley
  7. Sorry to hear that you lost a friend over the Nerf Party. Thanks for the advice. Fortunately, all of these boys which would be participating already play with Nerf guns.

  12. hope you don't mind me bumping this up a bit... Kelley
  13. I was curious if anyone has had a Nerf Gun birthday party before? I will have 10yob. It will be snowy, so it has to be indoors. Thanks! Kelley

  16. Thanks so much for the insight and for taking the time to post a response. Since there are no specific guidelines, that is probably why I was having a hard time with this aspect of allocation of what comprises the final grade:001_huh:. I guess I gotta ponder what my expectations are for each course. Kelley
  17. :lurk5: I hope you don't mind me popping this back up??? Kelley
  18. I am trying to formulate how a grade will be comprised for each subject.:001_huh: How do you weigh such things as Daily Work, Exams, Laboratory Experiences and other major projects? For example: Algebra will have daily work, then exams. Language Arts: Literature, Vocabulary, Spelling, Grammar, and Writing Science: daily work, experiments, exams, and lapbooks. Geography: Daily work, mapping, notebooking for each continent. Any guidance would be much appreciated...:) Kelley
  19. Sounds great! If there are some other ideas, in regards to curriculum surrounding Harry Potter, that would be great! Kelley
  20. what about Total Language Plus? (These are based on novel studies, etc...) There is lit., writing, copywork, grammar review, vocabulary, and spelling. Kelley
