  1. it needs to be taken raw if you're taking it for the antibiotic properties. We do minced garlic, and I put it on a spoon and cover it with honey, and then swallow it. The honey kind of makes it a capsule, so it's easy to swallow with water. Don't chew it...horrid stuff that way :D I take it once or twice a day when I'm sick or feel it coming on.

  2.

Was it Gary Haugen who spoke at your church? He was my oldest son's football coach this year, and we were so impressed by him. Really neat guy, and an EXCELLENT football coach!
:svengo:I would be doing that at every football game :D He is my most favorite person in the whole world. I caught a 2 minute clip of him on the radio 6 years ago and it turned my world upside down. IJM is amazing and Haugen is my hero :001_cool:
  3. I always thought it would be a hassle, and never had anything to sell, but I was just going through my shelves the other day and ended up listing a bunch of stuff to sell, and I've sold 4 or 5 things since yesterday and payment for most of them came through almost immediately. Maybe I got lucky? :001_huh: I pretty much always buy used...I wouldn't be able to afford it if everyone stopped selling!

  4. or just stick in an extra long audio book and be resigned to it.
We're already driving from MI to Gettysburg, to Manassas, to Onancock, to Jamestown, to Richmond, to MI, so the less time in the car, the better :D And any time spent in traffic is less time on the ocean.

It might be better to drive down 95 to 64 to VA Beach and go across the Bay Bridge tunnel. It is about 30 miles longer, but might be less subject to traffic issues.
We're coming home that way, so we like going two different ways so we get different scenery. We'd be driving this sometime on a Thursday morning.
  5. Michigan, especially the west side close to the lake. I would love to live somewhere else, but one of the appeals of where we live is the lack of natural disasters. We have snow, and that's it. We're so close to the lake that tornadoes are very rare, and when they do occur, they are super small and don't do much damage at all.

  6. We're going on vacation in a couple of weeks, and on one leg of the trip we are going from Manassas, Va, to Onancock, Va. Mapquest says it will take 4.5 hours. But upon looking at the map, I realize we are going to be driving the entire upper half of the Beltway, on a Thursday morning. The plan initially was to pack up camp at 8ish and leave, but now that I'm looking at the map, that's going to put us in DC rush hour, and DC traffic is terrible, right?

So....is it really going to be that bad? Are there any better options to do that route? And is the alternative just to wake up at 5am and leave, to get out of DC before rush hour?

  7. I haven't read the article, but I watched his video awhile back and thought it was good stuff. I'm on a diet and I have to cut out all sugars and starches for a few weeks, including caffeine, and I did good for a week. This weekend I had a few things b/c it was my dd's birthday. I'll tell you what....after not having sugar or starch for a week, anything that had sugar in it made me feel so sick. I had a small piece of dessert, and I felt like I had eaten a whole bag of cotton candy :tongue_smilie: I was really surprised. And now I'm more motivated to stay off sugar for the rest of my diet, and I'm tempted to really cut out more sugar from the kids' diet, and we don't eat that much sugar as it is.

  8. When we got married I said I wanted 4 or 5, and dh wanted 3 or 4, and we ended up with 5...4 of them due to birth control failures :D, not because I convinced him. I need a bunny icon, LOL. And.............I don't know what I was thinking. I don't think I had it thought through very well :tongue_smilie: But we're managing....heading out of toddlerhood, so the world seems a little bit hopeful again.
