  1. If she's not confident with reading and handwriting, I would stick with those first. What program is her school using for handwriting? I would try to use the same program or something similar so she doesn't get confused. Then just continue with ETC or consider finding something else that doesn't include writing (like OPGTR). .

This is what I would do. Get her reading well easy chapter books. Then begin spelling or FLL or WWE. We are finishing OPGTR then starting the other programs.

  2. We do memory work as a group. One or more times a day. We run through it sometimes together or sometimes individually. They like to jump while saying each word. Or do it while swinging. The car makes for a nice captive group. Doing it all tougher seems to make it more fun for them. They also like to show off for each other. We do days of week, months, planets, two phone numbers, our address counting by 2s 5s 10s and to 100,and poetry.

  3. I'm the hairy person in this family... I also have dark hair and light skin. It's embarrassing to me STILL. I cannot go more than a day without shaving and even then I get a 5 oclock shadow on my legs! You can see the hair through my pale skin even when my legs are freshly shaven... IT SUCKS!

Anyways... my dd is (so far) a blondie, but unfortunately at 4 her leg hair is already coming in pretty thick. She will likely be shaving at 9 like your dd.

This is exactly me and my daughter!

Totally let her shave whenever she is ready.

  4. I wish we could all eat the same meal. But all three girls have a dislike of meat. The 4 will eat salmon (which is great the 2 times a year that's a option) . The baby likes chicken lunch meat which isn't a everyday food. They will all eat a few chicken nuggets if they are from McDonald's which isn't helpful at all :p they do eat low sugar though. Whole grains lots of fruit. :tongue_smilie:

  5. My girls are currently 4,3,and 1. The oldest will be in k this year (turns 5 in October) . I plan on doing 2 years of geography and cultural studies including the little girls. Then moving to sotw when my oldest is in 2nd, middle k, and baby will be prek. We plan on school year round so I don't think it will take us 4 years though. I do plan on doing a more in-depth US history so maybe with that included it will bump it up...

  6. We just finished preschool but I think your plan sounds like a lot of fun! Have fun, read books, and some phonics if theyre ready is my preschool goals. My oldest really got into workbooks this spring so we did some free curriculum at the end. But really at this age there is no rush.

  7. I will have a kindergartener this year. My oldest dd will be 5 this Halloween. Michigan's cut off is Dec 1st. So here we go!

She finished 100ezl and we called that preschool.

She is working her way through OPGTR. With some of thephonicspage thrown in. We will be done with abeka's math and phonics worksheets by september (we got them for free and she likes to do them sporadically) I plan on moving to a mm and Singapore combo this fall. After she finishes OPGTR we will move on to WWE AAS and FLL. I'm desperately trying to figure out a Spanish program to start too. We do some memory work too. I also have two younger girls 3 and 1 running around.
