thowell, It sounds really great! Did this come recommended to you by someone? I'm just trying to find out if this lady is qualified to make such a wonderful list? Does that sound bad? I don't mean it to. But if I'm going to gauge my "coverage" of topics I'd like to know it's a reputable source, you know? Thanks so much.

I really think it would be worth it to try it at $15 (PDF). I just wondered where she got her "stuff" and for sure if it covers everything. For instance, is the math on target with most state and national standards for each grade? Does anyone know?

I've seen a few discussions on this, but I just wondered how it compares to state or national standards. It definitely looks complete to me, but how would I know?! :001_smile: How good of a gauge is this? What has been your experience with it? I don't know anything about Cindy Downes- does she know her stuff? (I'm assuming so!) Any thoughts appreciated!

I love going to curriculum fairs, but they can be so overwhelming. I love to go to homeschool/education stores to look at curriculum, but they don't always have what I'm wanting to look at. And finding samples online are so helpful. But...I want to look at the whole enchilada. :) I need to be able to sit and study something a good while to see if it's a fit.
Do any of you ask your local stores to order you something just to look at? Would the big box regular bookstores do this?
I guess an ideal situation is to be able to order from somewhere online, get to peruse it and chew on it a few days, then return it if needed for not too much return shipping. (Or like Zappos who has free return shipping because they want your business!!)
Any thoughts appreciated!

What an inspiration you all are! Wherever we are on the "organization" journey-- making/having time for the important things-- we can all learn so much from each other!
I loved the phrase
"reflexive tidying". :001_smile: (Always carrying something to the place you're going)

If you're super organized, and you feel like your days run more smoothly and less stressfully BECAUSE of your organization...
What would you say you DON'T do, that less organized people DO do...that equates to more time for you to be organized??!! :) (Clarification: maybe more time for you to "work your systems", maintain organization, plan ahead, cook freezer meals, etc!)
Clear as mud?
Example: you don't plop down at the computer 5 times a day (you limit computer time to once or twice a day, etc.),
Thought this might be a helpful thread!

What a complete blessing to see all these glowing reports about Compassion, and how wonderful to see so many children sponsored through the hive!

I know one of the best books is supposed to be "Adrenal Fatigue" by Wilson.
Hope you get relief!

anyone else learn any more cool things about this?

Hey Jaz,
Can you give us a quick rundown of what all Evernote does? Do you use it for planning too? And you can use it on a regular PC, not just an ipad or something? Thanks for the heads up!

Anyone use Ikeepbookmarks.com or is there no need for something like that if you do Pinterest? Anyone frustrated like me with regular internet bookmarks? (can't make explanations or anything- just marks them)

Oh such terrific ideas! THANKS!!! I see some green comin' at me! :001_smile: I love the idea of putting the shoes "in the cart" with Amazon and watching to see if price drops!

Great suggestions- actually last week I did those very things. I shopped around town, and after not finding what I was looking for I tried Ebay. I found some decent deals, but decided not to try them since I couldn't return them. (Or I assumed that- maybe you can return some.) Anyway, I went over to Zappos and their free shipping and free return shipping got me. Actually on the shoes I was looking for the Ebay prices and Zappos prices were about the same.

OK, so Pinterest! Can you do it where at least some of it is kept private and the whole world won't see all your stuff? That's a little weird! :)
What about just certain lesson plans, certain favorite game sites, Youtube videos...things that don't have a cute little picture to post!
Thanks!

-Fave way/program to organize bookmarks
- Best way you've found to organize things you want to do with kids online: games, youtube videos, activities, etc.
I guess this could somehow be incorporated with online planners?
TIA!

I'm a Target, Penneys, Marshalls kind of shopper. To find shoes on sale in town you'd have to hit the stores so often. Is there a good place to buy discounted shoes online? Or do some stores online have seasonal sales-- I mean GOOD sales? THANKS!

Any faves? Educational or not! (But innocent ones, not warfare-ish or anything!)
And then also-- how about ones that more than one can play-- is there such a thing?
TIA!

I don't use it, but a friend does, and I know this sale benefits a ministry 100%.

Does anyone have some good systems and pictures? Where could I purchase something like this?
I'm picturing like cups/glasses things holding each thing (pencils, crayons, scissors, etc.) and all are together in some kind of tray/basket. This way the child could take either one cup/glass to another place, or the whole tray/basket.
TIA organized ones! :001_smile:

bumping this....
The hive may have discussed this a million times but I haven't seen it...any book recommended for high school and college grammar and paper writing? Thanks!

What ages are these appropriate for?

If anyone is suspecting giftedness in their child, http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/ is a great site to peruse!

Lots of great stuff here. Great gifted site. Many ways to test reading levels. The AR links are broken- that's another good way to see what level the books your child is reading are.

Would love to hear what anyone thought after watching all of it? We missed getting to watch it free online. Thanks!
