  1. I didn't see any prices like that!  We must not live in the same area.

The best prices I got were "personalized" club card deals, but they weren't spectacular, just not as $$ as the rest of the groceries.

Is the salmon wild Pacific, or farm raised?

Gas is more here too, $2.30 is the cheapest I've seen.

  2. The print size is definitely something that helps me read faster.  I read almost all the time on my Kindle.  My kids make fun of me for the print size I keep it set on.  But having it set on a larger size makes it so much easier for me to read fast and for longer periods of time.

This.  It is SO much easier for me to read on my Kindle, set to a suitable font size, than to read a paper book.  My kids are always dissing the Kindle but it is the most comfortable way for me to read.

  3. My 5'4" son who wears boys size 16/18, men's XS or sometimes S, is trying to find a brightly colored dress shirt that is decent quality.  He has looked at the boys' department of various stores but the majority of the shirts are white, striped, or not very good quality.  Men's XS is hard to find.  He wants to know if there is a store for "petite men"?

  4. Raincoats.

I have my nice, new, clean, waterproof raincoat that I can wear with good jeans, a skirt, etc.

And I have my no longer very waterproof raincoat that leaks around the neck (a thick scarf solves that problem), had a few run-ins with barbed wire and blackberry vines, and is great for geocaching a/k/a scrambling around in the woods.  Another rip, more stains, no problem.

Paradox base layers. I wear these for skiing (nordic) and they are amazing for keeping warm. Light and warm and fits good under clothes.

For gloves, I only wear wool mittens. I am hard on hand wear - the wool wears out rubbing on the pole straps. DH found me a pair this year at Army-Navy that has leather on the palms and thumb joint. Wool for warmth even when wet.

I bought one of these last year at Costco.  Dd just wore it for the first time last week and said it was warm.

  6. My result was a metropolitan area about 200 miles from where I've lived all my life.  IMO that's pretty accurate.

ETA: dh took the survey and his results showed two areas where he spent the majority of his life up till about age 30.

  7. Speaking of no security . . . My dh travels a lot and sometimes we'd take him to the airport. Back in the day the dc and I would go a little early, grab a TCBY and eat it in the gate area while watching the airplanes and waiting for dh to come off the airplane.

I also remember as a kid, one of the free activities we did as a family was walk around the airport terminal looking at all the different airplanes.

My dad used to take occasional business trips.  I remember a couple of times we picked him up at the gate, and he walked back on the plane with my sibs and me in tow so he could show us what seat he sat in.  We got to look in the cabin and meet the pilots.

Also one time my uncle took my cousins and me to the airport, just for something to do.  He had a bunch of hardware in his leg because of a car accident.  He went through every metal detector he could find.  We thought all the commotion was great!

  8. I would want a scan to rule out appendix and also look at ovarian cyst.

A friend of mine is a DNP and had very similar symptoms.  Being in medicine, she tried the "ignore it and it will go away" method for a week when she finally went in for a scan as another doctor in the practice was afraid it was appendix.  That was clear but it was an ovarian cyst that had ruptured.

When my brother was about 20, he had appendicitis that flared up and settled down for several MONTHS.  He made several visits to the doctor where he was told stomach flu, nerves, you name it, nope, can't be appendicitis because there isn't pain in the lower right quadrant.  Finally my dad went with him to the doctor and said, "We're not leaving until you do whatever it takes to figure out what's going on."  They did a scan and... appendicitis.

FWIW, my sibs and I ALL had appendicitis that did not present as lower right quadrant pain.

Can your dd easily stand upright, and walk upright?  Appendicitis can make it painful for a person to stand and walk upright.

I'm not at all knowledgeable about ovarian cysts, but would have that checked out too because it sounds like a possibility based on what others have posted.

  9. Mine gave a Christmas bonus last year: one week's pay.  But we don't get a bonus every year.  It seemed like this was a good year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Dh's company gives performance bonuses (so not every year) and it's at the same time that he gets his annual raise.

  10.

me:    Can you give me a phone number that I can call tomorrow?

Naveen S:    If you would like to talk with someone on the phone, please call our phone number. Call 18005588224.

Naveen S:     We appreciate you being a wonderful member of Snapfish.  Please take a moment to complete our Customer Satisfaction Survey once the chat has been closed, it is just three questions.  Thank you.

Thanks for chatting today. Goodbye and have a great day.

    Naveen S has disconnected.

(he hung up on me!  He posted the last 3 sentences within 1 second of each other then a second later, disconnected abruptly)

So, out of this useless "chat", at least I got a phone number.....Oh well....enough on this subject......just frustrating.

    Thumbs down, Snapfish.

I hope you got to take the customer DISSATISFACTION survey...

  11. Could be sitting at a post office. Was it sent (FedEx) "Smart Post" or (UPS) "Sure Post"? Those are the most annoying. The seller determines this and you wouldn't know til after you place the order. It might show up on the FedEx or UPS tracking site as "exception."

I *detest* the FedEx/UPS handoff to the post office.  The packages sit at the post office forever.  I've got a package (not Amazon) that was scheduled to be delivered today; UPS tracking says handed it off to the post office yesterday at noon.  And it's sitting... somewhere.  USPS tracking doesn't show that they've received the package from UPS yet.

Good thing I don't need the package till January.

  12. Ditto.

I guess they have too much volume this time of the year to bring it all in one trip.

The volume seems to be exceeding the capacity of regular delivery vehicles.  My co-worker noticed FedEx delivering in a Uhaul truck yesterday.

  13. My kids' music lessons have all been held in the teacher's home.

When they were elementary school age, I was in the same room (due to the setup of the homes) or sometimes I left and came back.

Middle school & high school - either in the same room, another room in the house (depending on the setup), or leave and come back at the end of lessons.  Or drop off & the child walked home.

None of the teachers has expected me to stay.  But my kids never took Suzuki lessons, which is when I think the teachers expect the parents to stay?
