Stay away from high fat, greasy foods. Spicy foods also bothered me before I had my gall bladder out.

My excellent service was with HuskerHeaven. I'd ordered 2 sweatshirts, one for dh and a size small for dd. Kathy sent me an e-mail letting me know there was only one size small and it was damaged, so she wondered if I could wait for the new shipment of sweatshirts. The sweatshirt she sent is much nicer than the one I purchased, but she price matched it and sent it priority on Sat. I received it today. Whenever I've purchased items from Husker Heaven, they have been right on top of the orders. They are the company to purchase Nebraska Cornhusker items from!
Off topic, but you just made me homesick talking about Husker Heaven. I remember going in that store in Omaha back in 1995 the day after the Huskers won the National Championship, and buying a Championship embroidered sweatshirt. I still have it, and love to wear it once in awhile. The quality of their products is also great!

I wanted a pasta maker, which I already got. It's a nice one that will handle flour that I grind myself out of kamut wheat. The kamut wheat flour makes pasta that is buttery all by itself. It's delicious!
I also want a new area rug and a set of nice ceramic knives.

I've never tried to share one online, but I've been making photo calendars online for the last six years that were printed and shipped to me . We use discountphotogifts.com, and have always been happy with their quality. I just ordered mine last night, and a 11" x 17" one is on sale for $11.95 right now.

I've had an account with them for 3 or 4 years. I've only purchased one stock, but haven't had any problems with them. Everything was easy. We get an email notification for the 1099s, and then just log on to my account to print.

We starting sending e-cards through Smilebox two or three years ago. I love doing it this way. It's very inexpensive compared to mailing cards, and takes less time to throw together. I usually upload 7 or 8 pictures to go with the card, which is more than I would send by mail.

My twins are 8, and are halfway through Level 3 (we're six weeks into their 3rd grade school year). We had started Level 3 towards the end of 2nd grade, and started it up again after our summer break.

I made a sign to save my voice that says "Start a sentence with a capital letter. End it with a punctuation mark!"

I have a homeschooling friend who has a ds, 9 years old, who is a perfectionist. He has to do and understand everything perfectly. If he doesn't, he gets very frustrated and upset. It can take forever to get anything done, because he resists moving on if he's not perfect.
Does anyone know of any good books or other resources that would provide insight in how to teach/deal with a child like this?

I grew up in a town of 5,000 in south-central Nebraska. Western Nebraska is pretty remote. You won't be close to any large cities. The wind can be really strong. And you can get a lot of snow with frigid temperatures in the winter.
On the plus side, the people are generally very nice. If you like the great outdoors, you'll probably find interesting things to do/visit. It will be pretty common place to see people in cowboy boots and hats. Depending on how far west you are, there may be more ranches with cattle, etc, than crop farming.

I bought the Complete Book of Geography and Maps from Amazon for my 3rd graders. It's for 3rd through 6th graders, but more than one reviewer said they used it for a five year old. It got pretty good reviews, was inexpensive, and we are liking it so far.

I grew up in Nebraska and lived in Omaha for ten years. The people are wonderful, and if you can handle cold and snow, it is a great place to live. I really wouldn't want to go back there because of the weather. I got so tired of the frigid temperatures in the winter. And the wind makes it feel even colder. I'd probably give Tampa a try although I've never been there!

I just bought the Student Book at our local homeschool convention. I didn't realize that the answer key is sold separately as part of the Teacher Resource book.
Does anyone know if I can do this without the Teacher Resource book? I'm assuming I can figure out the correct answers for almost all the questions.

We got it from our library. It was a beautiful book, but not something my kids asked to read again. I wouldn't buy it, especially if your budget is tight.

We do daily math and reading. It takes about one to one-and-a-half hours per day. They worked so hard to learn their math facts this year, that I'm determined they don't forget them.

Last summer they offered free shipping for a $25 miniumum purchase, which really brings the cost/oz down to a reasonable cost.

Congratulations! I also have b/g twins. They are almost 8 years old. I can't say what it's like to homeschool older kids with twin babies, but it got a lot easier with my twins when they were about 18 months old. I've been able to keep them together for most of their curriculum, so that does make it easier for home schooling.

Sometimes they offer free shipping. I remember getting free shipping in August last summer.

Never. But, my MIL seems to feel like she can change or add anything she wants in our house. She has planted plants in our yard without asking us. And she'll bring knickknacks that she doesn't want anymore, but can't bear to donate or toss, and puts them somewhere on our shelves. Very annoying.
