  1. Thanks, Jennifer. :) What a good deal on the construction paper! I'll have to check out our local store.
  2. Not at all! Seven years before we even had children, my husband and I were in agreement that we would home educate our children and I would be a stay-at-home mom. He is 100% supportive! Thanks be to God, my husband has been able to work from home since we moved about 9 months ago. (His employer is in Charlotte, NC and we now live in the Midwest.) We love it. Our sons love it!
  3. Amy~ I remember Staples had a 1/2-price sale on their B/W copies last August. As such, copies were "only" 5 cents each. Hopefully they'll have it again next month. I have gone to Office Max, only because I had received a 15% off coupon for printing services. I had received it in the mail because I have one of their Teacher Reward cards. (Make sure to sign up for one because you get a $10 reward for every $75 spent in qualifying purchases!) At the Office Max I go to, B/W copies are: 10 cents for 1-75 copies; 9 cents for 76-250 copies; 8 cents for 251-750 copies. Color copies are 49 cents each, regardless of how many copies you get. At Staples, I was told B/W copies are 10 cents, and for 500-1001 copies, 9 cents. Office Max seems to have a better deal. I haven't checked at Office Depot or other places yet. I'm like you---looking for the best cost-effective method of copying! I would love to have my own photocopying machine here at home! However, I don't know if I can afford the price.
  4. Sally~ May I ask what kind of toner printer/copier you have? I've never heard of these before. $30 for 2000 copies sounds like an excellent deal. :001_smile: (Were you talking about just black/white copies?) Just the other day I paid $19 for 8 B/W and 44 Color copies at Office Max...and that was even with the 15% discount coupon I used!:001_huh:
  5. Do you have to go to the store for a Preferred Card? I tried looking for it at their website but couldn't find it.
  6. I ran into a very similar situation yesterday! The seller posted the book as "Like New" and I had the option of bidding on it OR using the "Buy It Now" option. Of course I took the BIN option since the price was cheaper than Amazon's prices for a Like New condition. I received the book yesterday and it was far from like new since it had creases and dog-eared pages on at least 9 pages; underlining in red colored pencil; and a boy's name written in cursive on the inside front cover. The way I handled it: I left Negative Feedback for her and also sent an e-mail to her outlining my reasons. I'm not bothering to send it back to her for a refund since I don't want to pay even more out of pocket for shipping expenses. Also, I need the book and it's in usable condition as it is. I'm just disappointed that the Seller was misleading. I will never bid on any of her future auctions.
  7. Hi Jenn~ I just joined the forum this morning and noticed your post because my son loves to play chess, too! He has been playing since November 2009 when we gave him a chess set for his birthday. (He'll be 8 this November). He and his brother participate in the local Chess League and he likes going to tournaments. I'm not familiar with "correspondence games" via email or snail mail. How does that work? We may be interested! Thanks~ Maria..
