Same here just northeast of Richmond. I expect we'll lose power in the afternoon and grill in the rain for dinner. Next door neighbors have a generator, thank goodness.
Going now to fill up bathtubs for flushing water. The joys of living on a well! :)
I am also just north east of Richmond. Winds are picking up.

Just raining but he power is already flickering. Sigh.

In our area they have been discouraging Juliette scouts unless it is a case of illness. I guess they really want girls in troops. That said, a friend of mine had a dd with a severe illness and it was perfect for her.

I generally assign work for a bad attitude or a lack of obedience though I have never really focused on obedience too much and it has never been much of an issue.

Eek.
I live in VA and some reports are saying it could hit here now. I am inland about 90 miles but we still get winds and flooding or at least we did with Isabelle.
I have said a prayer that your house and family will be fine.

Nope, you're not going crazy! I figured this would be a good time to get other stuff done, but of course, this is the week I really could use some good SL advice! (No offense to everyone here, I'm just not settled in here yet!)
It does seem unfortunate that they are down right as school is starting.

We use AAS and WWE.

Oh dear, I could be in trouble with my youngest. She has that look...
Lots of times I think it is just how the camera catches that split second.

They said they were moving to a new platform.

I had to vote no BUT it happened to my SIL and I was in the next room. Sounded like a gun going off.

I am a long time SL user. I have loved it for ten years. That said I have never been able to make their LA work.
I have never used PAL so I can't speak to that.

I like Kipper too. I don't think Oswald was on PBS here.

I'm getting just a teensy bit *jealous* of all of you who have had the opportunity to see the movie! Your positive reviews are intensifying my desire to see it! Our little local theatre hasn't advertised it yet, and I want to see this movie! It is rare (RARE, I say) for me to want to see a movie this much. I have been checking the theatre ads everyday, even though I know they change weekly. Ho-hum - patience IS a virtue, they say . . . Maybe they will bring the movie in before year's end . . . :glare:
How many movies show at a time in your theater? I love having lots of choices where I live but this sounds quaint and small townish in a cool way.

I'd say it is true for most people if you include the outside classes and extracurriculars than many people do.

No but school shootings were unheard of when I went to school. I remember the first time I heard of one I was absolutely stunned. It still is awful of course, but that first time really turned me on my head.

It's funny, b/c I would probably start over, but in so many cultures they would just pull out the bug and keep going, and it would be fine. A sterile moth is not going to hurt your dinner, but the ick factor always gets the better of me. I'd better not leave the US.
Exactly my thinking. I knew it wasn't a big deal but I knew it would bug me too much to eat my lunch.
-
I would pour out the water, scrub the pot fifty times and start over. I don't do bugs.
You are making me feel better.
-
Ack! Typo in the poll. Sorry about that.
I poured out the water. I TRIED to convince myself that the water was boiling and it wouldn't matter anyway but I knew I would not be able to enjoy my lunch.
-
If you put a pot of water on the stove to boil and when you returned to place the pasta in the boiling water you found that a moth had fallen in would you
a) pour out the water and start over
or
b) pull out the moth and put in your pasta
Poll coming

My nephew's fiancee teaches at an elementary school near the epicenter of the quake. The roof collapsed. No one was hurt, thank God, but it certainly was a terrifying experience for some.
Yes, a friend of mine is a EMT near Mineral. I know that there was damage there but for the rest of us it was scary but no damage.

Once in a blue moon my dh will get a ticket, probably less than once a year. My mother always gives me 5 scratch offs in my Christmas stocking.

Just felt an aftershock about 20 minutes ago (VA).
Me too. Not nearly as big though.

It was like that here yesterday. Humid even for us and that is saying something.
