Good! Because she already wore it and is back home in the same tank and shorts!;)
:D

It would not bother me.

The are terrific and gripping. Among the teen set, the third book is very controversial. My son tells me that none of his friends like how it ended. I did not feel that way however.
-
So cool. My father was stationed there when I was a kid and I loved it.

Bless your heart! I think you do win the prize. Are you guys doing ok? Our power was only out for a day...not too bad this time. Once after a summer thunderstorm/tornado we were out for a week. That was hairy!
Everything is way better now that the a/c is working. LOL
-
Wow! Did you stay home the entire time or wait it out elsewhere? So glad you have power again...ours was out but only for about 16 hours...
We did. We are on a very small grid and we are almost always one of the last so we have a generator. That helps. Plus the weather, until today, has not been too hot.

My power just came on 5 minutes ago. Do I win the booby prize?

I can get back on the new forums, but I just don't like the feel of them.. I was barely posting anyway.
They look completely different but now that I have used it a day or two I really like them. There are some really nice features.

Mamajo - I see your kids are using AAS how do you find it and does your 6yr old enjoy it??? It looks like a lot of fiddling around with all those tiles.
Well the 6 yo will start with it next week so I can speak to how he will like it yet BUT my 10 yo is dyslexic and it has been AMAZING for her. The tiles got through to her in ways I never would have imagined. Three years ago her spelling was so bad that even she could not read what she had written. Now she is almost up to grade level. For a struggling speller AAS is a miracle.

I've been having the same issue so I finally broke down and spent some money on good quailty pencils and so far so good....Ticonderoga brand.

We're Conservative Protestant and we are religious homeschoolers. Where does that leave us
I think that means that they went to a Conservative Protestant private school.
Yes that came across as very negative towards homeschool grads but it seems to me that the population that is homeschooling has changed in recent years. I don't think that is representative of what is to come.

Where have I been? I did not even know there was an online service. Sounds like I wasn't missing anything.

Because they are young so many kids are more willing to look up to them. They are a couple so there is someone to lead the girl and the boy activity. Youth is more likely to have the energy to do all the activities most youth groups require. A couple is more likely to be stable and settled. The best youth leaders our church ever had was a young couple.

I miscarried several times and would not want to have been traveling. Sometimes the bleeding can get quite heavy and it would be terrible to be on the road.
-
I don't but I don't think it is wrong to do so. It just never seem neccesary as I have my kids re-do things until they are right.
-
My apologies. I'm rather good at doing that sometimes. :o
Sorry to just get back to this. We have been without internet since Irene. I totally get it. No worries.
-
I was just making a joke in response to Dawn's post. I didn't mean to insult you in any way. Only Mr Collins!
Oh good. It is so hard to read tone.
-
My father was in the artillery all of my growing up years and we always lived near artillery posts. I know exactly what you are talking about.

Just coming back online new. We still have no power and likely will not for some time as we have been told that our outage affects on a couple people and we are at the bottom of the waiting list. I am so happy we bought a generator after Isabelle.

I think we're venturing into getting a little judgemental about people's taste in literature or attaching motivations or values or such to certain stories that just aren't there.
You're right of course, there's nothing romantic about abuse but that wasn't the be-all,end-all of WH anymore then happy endings were all that Austen wrote about. Both authors explored a LOT of rich territory. That I prefer Bronte doesn't really say much about me other then I prefer Bronte. It's not that big a deal.
On the other hand, maybe one could speculate old and jaded, "experienced" women are using Austen to escape from their loveless marriages to a Mr Collins type.Heh
I think that perhaps you are reading something into my tone that was not intended.

Power down. Trees down. It is a mess. Scary winds. Two deaths in VA. Generator up but I probably won't have the computer long.
-
I have a theory about Wuthering Heights. Most women I polled who loved it read it for the first time in their teens or very early 20s. Most women who missed this window hate it. I am in the later group. There is nothing romantic about abusive.

Ya'll are ambitious. We are taking naps, watching soccer and Sherlock Holmes.

It it the book I hate the most. I despise it will all of my being. I will never read it again nor will I encourage my children to do so.
Shall I go on? :D
Can I be ugly for a sec? MIL content.
