Don't know. But when you say Budweiser... you've said it all.
rrrrrrrrribbit!
-
The Fronz with his "heeeeeyyyyyyyy".
Refresh my memory...What was the name of that Budweiser dog? The black and white one with the really long face?
Spuds Mackenzie (sp?)
ETA: He was some kind of terrier.

My grandmother told me that in the 30s there was an ad for Life Bouy soap, which, I believe, was where the term B.O. was coined: "Now I know the awful truth. I have B.O." And the first part, about the awful truth, was very popular.
Is that anything like "Simple chronic halitosis"??
What product was associated with that? Scope?

The tags on this thread are killing me!! You are all very creative tonight.
More important than wisdom in choosing clothing is the wisdom needed in this new job. I am praying that Obama will make good decisions and help our country.I am with you there, mom2.

Calgon, take me away!
Ancient Chinese secret, huh?
Where's the beef?
I'm Gumby, dammit!
He's dead, Jim.
If it weren't past my bedtime, I could probably come up with more....
Don't forget:
Tastes great! Less filling!

I didn't do it,
no one saw me do it,
can't prove anything!
:D

"A husband snores.
A child asks for another drink of water, then goes back to bed, again.
A toddler tortures a cat.
While a woman sits... still typing..."
How am I doing so far???

Well, somebody is concerned about something. My daughter works for Baxter Labs in IL. Her department has had to procure special permission from Baxter to fill abnormally huge orders of drugs and equipment for the DC area hospitals - just for preparation for the inauguration.
It seems reasonable to me that the hospitals would want to be prepared to meet the potential medical needs of the more then one million people who were in DC today. *shrug*

Whatever you think of the dress, if your dh looks at you like that does it matter what you are wearing?
Actually, my dh does look at me in much the same way. :001_wub:
...and I shop at J.C. Penney's. :D

They look almost like pom-pom type thingies. Maybe they are rosettes?
I think Michelle is a very pretty lady, and I don't care for the dress. As you (Chucki) mentioned, she is very slender. I think something with sleek lines would look stunning on her.

Here is another shot. This one is a little better:

This is the best I have been able to do so far:
The designer is Jason Wu.
-
He probably doesn't have a problem pronouncing a good plain American name like George.
Or "John"? :D

Can't those of us who love broccolli have just one thread where....
NO! That would be far too civilized of us. :D

So we are still looking for an answer to part B, what president did not "swear" the presidential oath, and why?
*Hint* It is in the Wiki article I linked.
-
That's not my understanding...but I could be wrong.
I'm looking for another answer to part B.
And for you to "prove" me wrong :tongue_smilie:
Bill
According to my earlier search John Adams was the first to take an oath. It appears now this may have been incorrect.
(George Washington was first sworn in by Robert Livingston, the chancellor of the State of New York in 1789,

Point for you SpyCar. :001_smile:

Is this a bad time to mention that broccoli gives me gas?
-
Someone has to :D
George Washington did not take an oath.

Aretha I could handle. The poem? Blech. Hated it.
:iagree: Certainly with $150 million they could afford better talent.

I use a regular serrated bread knife, and haven't had any problems.
I was also wondering whether you were adding enough salt? The salt helps to control the rise.

Singing to a recording in 27 degree weather is quite a trick - I thought she did fairly well, all things considered.
You know who DID impress me?
The quartet: Yo Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and the clarinet & piano. HOW did they DO that? It was freezing! I mean, I think the clarinet had a latex barrel to help with the pitch, but for the life of me I don't know how the piano stayed in tune and they matched pitch. Cold does nasty, nasty things to wood instruments. The area they were playing in must have had some kind of heat source - if you watched Yo Yo Ma, he was clearly having a great time! Plus - John Williams' arrangement of Simple Gifts was just - well - dazzling.
String instruments can be tempermental under the wrong weather conditions. I thought they all played beautifully.

Whole wheat does not hold together as nicely as white flour. If this is the problem, add 1 TBS of gluten for every two cups of flour.

I loved the changeups in the words. I loved her voice and spirit.
And I love it that she can sing at all in 27 degree weather. I certainly can't.
Yes, that too!
