  1. Yes, S Korea still allows escorting. DH and I chose to travel, but I understand that not all people want to! Just wanted to mention, S Korea is a wonderful place to adopt from. Great medical care, and the children live in foster homes, where there can be no more than 2 babies at the same time. Smooth process, and easy, paperwork-wise. I would've adopted again from S Korea, in a heatbeat, if I hadn't aged-out of the program! Off hand, I can't think of any other countries that will allow escorting. I've *heard* that Taiwan will sometimes allow it, but I'm not positive on that.
  2. Okay, I hate doing the math on this...but when my youngest goes off to college, I will be 65!!! So, I don't think I'll be returning to the workforce ; ) I WAS a career woman for over 20 yrs before becoming a mom, so I've had the experience of that - now it's all about my family.
  3. Depending on where you want to adopt FROM, I can tell you that you can't go wrong with Wide Horizons For Children. We adopted our son from S. Korea thru them, and they are professional, ethical, and caring. They also work in quite a few countries other than S. Korea. Another agency, Carolina Hope, who we used to adopt our daughter from Guatemala, is also pretty good, but that was so many years ago, and I really haven't keep up with them. What country are you considering? I would love to adopt again. Our youngest is turning 2 on Halloween, and I am feeling a strong urge for another baby! We adopted her domestically. We might try that again, but Haiti, Ethiopia, and Taiwan are all calling to me!
  4. I would agree that Christmas is NOT the best time to enjoy the parks, if you can help it. If you could go sometime during the 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, you get all the wonderful fun of a "WDW Christmas", but not all the crowds. Early March is a great time - actually, anytime January thru early March is great. May (before Memorial Day weekend) is also very good, but it starts to get pretty hot.
  5. When in March would you be going? I'm asking because the free Dining is in effect still for very early March - I believe that you would have to check in by March 3rd. In that case, you could stay at Port Orleans Riverside for $2700 for a week, and all your food would be included. I personally LOVE staying on-site. But then, I am a complete Disney-phile!!! I am a native Floridian, and lived in Orlando for 11 years - went nearly every weekend. Now we are in MI, so we try to at least make it there once a year or so, staying for 8-10 days. Our next trip is booked for the week after Thanksgiving - very quiet time in the parks, and we are getting the free Dining. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
  6. LOL! Yeah, I think I made this mistake already! I said, until recently, that I didn't want to be 50 and having (adopting) babies. Whenever the conversation comes up now, about adopting one more, DH jumps right in with "oh, but you will be 50 next April, and we probably won't have a baby home by then. It's too late". Hmph, guess I should have kept my thoughts to myself!
  7. I'm an adoptive mom, and I'd say 50. I'm 49 now (!), and since I REALLY want one more, I might have to change that : ) Our kids are 8.5, 7, and almost 2. If we are gonna do it, we need to do it NOW!
  8. Don't be ugly now..... I grew up in Florida, in a family of Southerners, and that was a common phrase. I've also lived in SC, and people use it there, too. I think I say it sometimes. Seems to me that it's pretty obvious what it means if heard in context (kids being rude or mean) - but maybe if you're not used to hearing it, it can seem harsh.
