I agree with Lori D. We are using it the same way.
My 7th grader ds is using Jacob's Algebra this year and really enjoying it. (He hated Saxon last year.) My 9th grader is using Jacob's Geometry...he's not "enjoying" it, but it is a great text.
The examples are easy to understand and fun.

Thanks for the ideas. It's nice to know I'm not alone! I guess when they are this age, "snacks" turn into "meals"....I've just got to get used to that idea and plan some more mid-meals! (It reminds me of all the "meals" in LOTR!)
Thanks again! I'm off to the grocery store! :)

Hi,
My three sons must are growing like weeds and eating all the time! Does anybody have some recommendations for snacks for them...healthy and satisfying? (If snacks are left up to their imagination, then they choose bowls and bowls of cereal!) They aren't allergic to anything. Their ages are 10, 13, and 15.
Thanks!

I love T-Tapp also...my favorite DVDs are Tempo Intermediate and Tempo Lower Body. I am very blessed to live in the same town as Teresa and am able to work out with her in the mornings (when she's in town). I have noticed a change in my overall health, as well as inch loss.

HST plus is a big time saver here!

Anything with knights was a big hit here! They loved any and every story dealing with King Arthur. They also loved Jim Weiss' King Arthur CD.
Robin Hood was also a big hit...they loved the old Errol Flynn movie version.
Have fun!

We are using Biblioplan with SOTW 2 this year and it schedules by countries....we haven't found it to be confusing. We are still loving SOTW and history!

It could be your sound card. Our sound isn't working either...and I think that's what is wrong with it.

Same for our family! Hopefully we'll keep it that way!

Thanks! I'll have to look into that for my boys!

My 7 grade ds loves Fallacy Detective...he even reads ahead! He's looking forward to the Thinking Toolbox next week. He is also enjoying Apologia's General Science.

Hi Angela,
I bought it and decided not to do it because my boys had already read the series and some of the stuff they weren't interested in doing. I was kind of disappointed because I wanted to do it!!! (My boys are 15, 13, and 10). It covers all the books and has a lot of activities...so you can pick and choose. I just listed it on the Sale and Swap Board, if you are interested.
HTH!

I would recommend the TWSS - it teaches you how to teach the program. It has a really good resale value also.

We finish up mid-May and then start back up mid-August. We may do some "Art" and also some Boston-related history (since we are going on vacation there in August.) I need a summer break!!!

Great pictures! Thanks! We start only part of it...by 9:45 the clouds were covering it.

Fort DeSoto is beautiful...no hotels or condos built on it. It is usually rated one of the "world's best beaches" by the guy who rates such things. (It must be a hard job!!!) It has a nice campground too, if you're into camping!

I think it was Meliss that put some Latin Prep I vocabulary into flashcards at http://www.studystack.com. It has other fun games to play with the vocabulary cards.
